Puberty is the time in life when a boy or girl becomes sexually mature. It is a process that usually happens between ages 10 and 14 for girls and ages 12 and 16 for boys. It causes physical changes, and affects boys and girls differently.

child is a young human being below the age of puberty

LOL apparently someone didn't know Trayvon was his parent's child.

Crying is not an physical reaction reserved for minors . It can sometimes be a healthy way to release emotions.

This is the problem with blind party loyalty IMHO. If anyone says anything about the actual people responsible, and they happen to be on "your team", then party hacks like you go nuts, to defend things that they would find horrible if committed by "the other team"

Reasonable discussion my ass. You came into this thread to bad mouth Democrats and take a jab at Obama. Now you are going to act like you weren't trying to disturb the hornets nest.

Another fucked up thing you are doing is painting this picture in your head that I, or anyone else that disagrees with you, is sitting in front of their computer foaming at the mouth with rage and about to have a heart attack or stroke. Another dick move.

Also, you are assuming that because I have compassion for the people of Flint, then I must be a Democrat showing "blind party loyalty." Again, painting false illusions of reality in your mind of what you think "must be true."

You made a brief appearance in this thread, but everything you said shows just what kind of a smug, know-it-all prick you are, way more then anyone else in the fact you are acting so nonchalant about it.

You should all move to Flint you would fit right in. </that said>

What happened in Flint regarding the water has little to do with the auto industry and everything to do with the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department.

After the City of Detroit went bankrupt, they raised the costs of water and sewer to Genesee County (Flint) as well as Oakland and Macomb Counties (Suburban Detroit) residents a LOT -- LIKE DOUBLE.
Karegnondi Water Authority - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A new pipeline is being built for potable water and also sewage treatment plants.

So, the mental midgets on the Genesse County Commission decided to, in the interim, retrofit the Flint Water Treatment Plant to purify the toilet water of the Flint River and its watershed of brownfield industrial storm drainage. That is one source of the lead the other is in the old water piping solder joints of the Flint's pre 1940 housing stock (that is still occupied).

super no va -- now that is funny, ROFLMAO

Mark, it took a lot of people to fuck up things in Michigan. Not just the Governor who I'll bet knows nothing about water except frozen it makes ice cubes. The fact you ONLY post when you can throw a political slant on things takes away from the real problem.

.

Its the Governors job to know though, especially when he was directly responsible for appointing the people who made the decision to draw water from the Flint River.

These were not local officials who made that decision.

When it comes to politics, sure there is going to be a lot of finger pointing, but in this case, it is very clear who was responsible for this.

Even if the former democratic mayor publicly said "hey, there is nothing wrong with this water and its safe," he had no part in the decision. Was he morally wrong for saying that? Of course, and it was probably why he lost his bid for re-election, but it wasn't his decision to make.

Ricky Snyder appointed emergency managers, who were warned that it would be a bad idea to do it, yet they did it anyway in an attempt to save money. It doesn't get anymore clear cut than that.

I do agree it took a lot more people to create the mess than just the Governor, don't get me wrong, but in the end he is ultimately responsible.

Without a doubt he is ultimately at fault. However like most politicians he's not intelligent enough to do more than weigh the reports/opinions of others. Someone other than him fucked up badly but the blame will be his to own up to.

Of course if you're ********** it all happened because he's a Republican.

.

Not totally true L-Pink, but I'll meet you part-way on that. And of course its is not just Rick Snyder's fault alone, but he did make the decision to switch to the river as Flint's main source of water, and he did ignore the warnings, and he did try to squash the people raising the alarm. Dynamo was still wrong, despite links to facts in my original post.

No sir, not true. I don't really care that he's a republican. He didn't say anything goofy like others have, and that I like to have fun with. This is an entire city of people who may be seriously poisoned. Flint was in serious financial trouble and politicians stepped in to emergency-manage the place, and now it has just got a whole lot worse. In this particular case, politics needs to be put aside, and a solution found really fast.

This has nothing to do with one party over the other. This is a local city government issue. We tend not to think about this, but our local city governments are bigger than we think - they take care of our garbage, our sewage, our roads, fire and police departments, and also our water supply.

Our city governments make a lot of these decisions behind our back without discussing them.

dyna mo 01-20-2016 11:18 AM

more finger-pointing, this time Obama's EPA, while they admit fault for it, they point their finger at local officials for it.

EPA admits fault, blames Michigan officials over Flint

Quote:

Washington ?? The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency admitted Tuesday it should have acted more swiftly in addressing the issues with Flint's drinking water.

An EPA spokeswoman told Reuters that the federal agency did not act fast enough in addressing the growing problem in the city.

While the federal agency worked to ??repeatedly and urgently communicate the steps the state needed to take to properly treat its water, those necessary actions were not taken as quickly as they should have been,? the EPA said in a Tuesday statement.

While the situation in Flint was ??unusual,? the EPA said its ability to oversee state environmental regulators?? management of the situation was ??impacted by failures and resistance at the state and local levels to work with us in a forthright, transparent and proactive manner consistent with the seriousness of the risks to public health,? the statement says.

Rochard, this was not the local governments doing. Rick Snyder was elected in 2011. Almost immediately after taking office in 2011, he appointed emergency managers that took over a lot, if not most of the local governments responsibilities when it comes to decision making on the services you mentioned. It is called the emergency manager law. You can read a little more about it here... (not going to bother hotlinking it since its a government site)

michigan.gov/snyder/0,4668,7-277-57577_60279-283632--,00.html

Ironically, its an article explaining why Michigan "needs" the law. I think when it was signed, it was probably a good idea, but Snyder wasted no time in taking advantage of it, and as you will hear in his own words from the video that is posted on that page, making changes to that law, that in my opinion, removed a lot of oversight that would keep that law from being abused.
