Thanks for posting! I was lucky enough to catch the last few summer tours and our course all the fare thee well shows.

Understand and sympathize...

When I got on the bus I was bummed to never have seen a Pigpen era show.

As a taper I regretted the great ones I missed, so it is a beautiful thing that so many were recorded and things like sugarmegs and archive.org exist.

I also personally enjoy how the music is moving into another generation and how it is being interpreted by bluegrass, jazz, rock, even classical bands and composers. I go to see a group of local musicians that cover the Dead and it amazes me how there are twenty year olds that never saw a Jerry show but love the music and can experience the joy of the improvisation and feel the spirit even though they never saw Jerry.

His spirit and musical genius truly live on.

and they started out kinda like a jug band.

Bob Wier is probably 14 or something in Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions

He might not have been "great" on the Pedal Steel but he sure knew how to make it fit just right...

Catching DSO tonight, looking forward to some Dead&co summer dates. I never knew much about Mayer but I have listened and he gets inside some of the jams quite spectacularly. I saw a lot of Dead and Jerry shows so I don't pay the compliment lightly.

Have seen DSO multiple times and Loved their work! John Kadlecik blew me away the first time i saw him play with DSO. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with an open mind and knowing the music has to live on?
Enjoy The Show:thumbsup

The "Here comes sunshine" Dead&co did on 12/30/15 was spectacular. I am really looking forward to it. He "gets it" that is for sure.

This band attracts heads that were there in 66 at the acid tests to the college crowd at UW. I know a lot of hardcore heads that even like them better than DSO, Furthur, etc.

Check out their Cumberland Blues - lmkwyt
