Look at the average wage and taxes paid to see where the break-even point is. Then look at national debt. You'll see very few actually contribute a lot. In the UK the top 20% pay more in taxes than the rest combined. Gary, Madalton, me, we contribute. Even today me pensions make me a net contributor.

All migration should be judged on this basis.

You get UK pension and spend that in CZ. UK should not pay pensions to those who leave the country if they were smart. Just count how much money UK loses on paying all those 300K "Spaniards"...

I have been to the UK, twice, and it was eye opening. I am a huge WWII buff and seeing some of the places I've been reading about for years was neat.

I also visited the Dating Factory offices in Bridgewater, England. The office there was located on a river that was a defensive line in the event Germany invaded the UK. There a dirt road along the river and every morning I would go jogging. There was bunkers there, small ones, that you could still go inside.

wrong...china export to UK=3% of total exports...UK exports to china = 3% of total exports...

3% is 3%...only they are growing and you are not...works out great for the #2 economy in the world, soon to be #1...

also you can not really force the chineese people to buy UK stuff...even if the chin government could do a 1:1 kind of deal this does not mean people will actually buy your stuff...free market and shit...you need to be competitive etc...

China wasn't. Hong Kong, Japan and others were. Please get some facts.

you mean hongkong the former brit colony until 97 and japan, countries that did not have cheap labor at all but only produced better than you?...how is that an argument?...

and you completely ignore big money and its wishes...big money gets what big money wants...if the UK does not play like big money says, big money will avoid the UK...

Why wouldn't "re-unification" mean "no border"? One country.

True but the Chinese love our stuff. We get plane loads of them coming over here just to go shopping and take stuff back to China. The price of pork has gone up in the Uk because most pork producers are selling their output to China. So a trade deal would help us a lot if we could get one. I don't think that'll happen too soon though, I think a deal with India will come first.

At the moment we're sending ur jobs East. We need a Government that says to China and the others, buy more hi-tech from us or we won't buy from you.

Not EU Governments that allow Airbus to open factories in China. If they can move East, what's to stop Mercedes, BMW? Whoops, to late look under the bonnet of your car.

What you just described has already happened in the US twenty+ years ago. America used to be a manufacturing powerhouse but now all those jobs went to China, india and Mexico. I honestly do not know what all those semi-skilled factory workers went and did after they lost their jobs...not into high tech.

It's a giant fucking MESS is all I can really say. Knowing where the line is, between semi-slave labor/wages and a decent middle class income, seems to be the challenge.

they would buy more if they wanted...its not that china is stopping UK stuff from opening shop in china...its not their fault your goods do not sell more...

but fact of the matter is you are 3% of all export to them, they are 3% of all export to you...stale mate...

2 possibilities:
1) you can both keep the 3%
2) you can impose bans on each other and not have the 3%

you do not have a bargaining chip against china...

You can kick out as many as you want... You can make the best trading deals possible... won't help you a bit... Your problem isn't your economy... your problem is your NATIONAL DEBT...

With all best intentions they will never be able to reverse that...

Default is coming... inevetable... Not a question of If but a question of When
Not only in Britain btw... rest of Europe too, usa, etc...

Say bye bye to the world we know...

Brexit didn't help...

Thank your Bank!:thumbsup
