If he really went away this wont be a first example of doing thing like that, many programmers simply abandoned their projects as it was not worth it anymore.
Thumblogger, Blogsorganizer, tgpx , zorgman, you name it.

Thanks for your response.
I have a PayPal claim right now with Stats Remote to try and get back my money (I had just bought another one year subscription).

Once that is settled I am going to make the switch.

I was one of the very first customers of Stats Remote all those years ago. They have always promptly answered any support issues I had and always added in anything I suggested.

So I can only guess that something bad has happened on their end. :(

Mine is expiring in about a month. So, I'm going to buy a copy of the Pro version for a month in a week or so then experiment with it. My plan is to pick away the migration as free time permits so that I'm not rushed into doing it at once.

If Neil does resurface by then, I'll make a decision whether or not to stick with NifyStats. While Neil has ALWAYS been responsive to my needs, I'm not fond of uncertainty with respect to software I rely on.

Yanks_Todd 01-03-2017 09:16 AM

Bump for Neil

HowlingWulf 01-03-2017 09:18 AM

I switched to NiftyStats years ago and have been happy with them.

StatsRemote was a company I genuinely felt good about giving my dough and I agree that Neil really doesn't seem like the sort of person to just wander off without a really bad impetus.

PornDiscounts-V 01-03-2017 05:42 PM

Lots of others looking for him in the betting industry as they also have many programs in SR. Some of them have already begun to program an open source version. Lets see if they can pull it off.

Petra 01-04-2017 06:49 AM

Well, add me to the list to the people looking for Neil.

I really, really, really, really, REALLY don't want to have to deal with switching to Nifty Stats for FreeOnes. :Oh crap I'm sure Nifty is perfectly fine but that's A LOT of info needing to be switched over.

Yanks_Todd 01-04-2017 03:37 PM

Bump for info on Neil. I get all the Nifty talk and I understand we all have businesses to run, however Neil and this company has been around a long time offering a great product.

Does nobody have any way to contact him personally?

I really just hope everything is ok. The stats can wait a bit.

The statsremote.com domain expires on 1/27/2017. I'd prepare for the worst

Once that happens the program will obviously no longer work since it has to login to the site to authorize itself. :(

Or, he's not around to pay his hosting bill and they shut him off. I like Neil a lot, a whole lot. But with approximately 2 months of no response, and no updates, it is simply prudent now to allocate the time needed to migrate all programs to an alternative, such as NiftyStats.

Bladewire 01-04-2017 09:36 PM

Can I point something out without malice?

This "we're in adult so we must be anonymous" stuff has got to stop. A lot of you pay someone good money and rely on them, a reliable good person, for services.

Something bad has obviously happened to a good reliable person and we're kinda a little lost. A lot of you could help him with a gofundme but we don't know his details. We can change this way of doing business.

Screwed Up 01-06-2017 06:22 AM

Seems like the program stopped working/updating all together.

And the client login on their website is now insecure: "Attackers might be trying to steal your information from secure.statsremote.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID"

Yes, it crashed on my system few minutes ago and I can't launch it anymore. It seems this is the end.

Adraco 01-06-2017 06:40 AM

I had it open this morning, had to do a computer restart and now it will not open.

IF YOU HAVE STATSREMOTE OPEN - DO NOT CLOSE IT
at least not before you have saved/exported all information out of it!

Edit: WORKAROUND
Set your computer time to yesterday's date, January 5th 2017.
Now you will be able to open StatsRemote.
There will be a message saying your computer time is wrong, just click ok.
Now the program will open up like normal.
Once started, you can change the date back and click on a different tab, like "Last month", let it sit on that tab for a while and then StatsRemote will check computer time and switch the "Today" tab to today's date.

Their webpage has some expired security certificates, so I would recommend all StatsRemote users to export out all important information, because it will not work to login much longer at all.

e-god 01-06-2017 07:02 AM

Anybody tried to contact the managing company network247.de ?

Yanks_Todd 01-06-2017 07:04 AM

Does anyone have an info on how to cancel a quarterly 2checkout billing?

Found it https://www.2co.com/

You need your order number, CC number and email.

TheSenator 01-06-2017 09:00 AM

Ugg... StatsRemote is not working.

Looks like I am moving

cybermike 01-06-2017 09:24 AM

Ugh this is annoying..

robwod 01-06-2017 09:36 AM

Shortly after I made my post 2 days ago here, I proceeded to extract summaries of all years within SR going back to 2003.

Then yesterday I added all programs to NiftyStats -- was fairly straightforward, though CCBill is problematic, mostly because their stats servers are so slow that they time out when trying to retrieve stats beyond a couple of months. Beyond that, things went smoothly and took less time than I figured. To be fair, I never added all programs to NiftyStats, only the ones I want to deal with going forward which certainly lessened the workload of switching to NS.

One thing I will say, I was impressed -- really impressed -- with how responsive NiftyStats support was. Very fast replies, and thorough. It'll take a little getting used to NS, but I'm glad I took the time to make the switch yesterday.

That said, I hope whatever happened with Neil, that he is okay.

Good luck everyone.

Adraco 01-06-2017 11:51 AM

For startup problems, here is an old support thread with how to do backup first then make fresh installation:
StatsRemote :: Message Board - View topic - SR won't open/load

and then modify the computer's date and start the program.

cybermike 01-06-2017 12:12 PM

Sure you can modify the date to get it working but then it wont update the numbers going forward right?

What's NS's solution for CCBill? Do you have to make a new entry every few months?

rogueteens 01-06-2017 12:41 PM

just downloaded the demo of NS, that look and layout is going to take some getting used to after god knows how many years of SR.

I forgot about all the non-adult users, I cannot see him just walking away from so many rebilling users.
Hope he's okay.

No. Either be patient and try multiple times and let it work on the download for hours.
Or do it in steps, so you add like a year back at a time to lighten the data pull.
When that is down, go back another year etc.

Basically they send you a beta file of the stats.exe file. You download 1 days worth of current stats just to get a list of the programs you are enrolled into. Then you left-click on the CCBILL program in the sponsors list, then from the top menu under NiftyStats, click on "Import Accounts". From there, you browse and select "CC Bill Affiliate.dat" from your /statsremotedata folder (usually located under C:/users/yourname/statsremotedata/default_workspace/statshistory/CC Bill Affiliate.dat)

Then, apparently, it just starts loading them all in the background and importing them.

I have a special circumstance where it never worked. But my best guess is that it would work for most people. To their credit, NiftyStats offered to take a look at my specific file and attempt to decode it for me. But I decided that since I have an archive of SR data now loaded into an Excel file, I would start fresh with NiftyStats with everything set to begin from January 1st, 2017.

Just contact them. They sure seem to be easy to work with and willing to help people migrate.

My stats remote crashed today, now it does not open anymore. I uninstalled old version, reinstalled new version and still the app does not open. Anyone else having this problem? I also emailed [email protected] but the email keeps bouncing back to me.

I agree. If he just stopped doing updates and answering support that would be one thing, but to not keep things up to date like the basic connectivity makes no sense. If I shut down our program, I could keep it lights on for years and keep re-bills going.

Yeah read the posts above you.. change your pc date to 1/5 or earlier.. it will open up but wont give you new stats for today or going forward

To be fair, even if basic connectivity was kept up, as soon as nats or ccbill updates about every program will cease to upload. Dogfart is already broken since they recently updated their affiliate area.

Thank Mike. I'll try that now.

AmeliaG 01-06-2017 03:59 PM

Well, drat. Was really hoping it would not come to this. Wanted Neil to have misplaced his email password while vacationing some place remote for the holidays and come back and make everything right. Guess that is not happening.

Be nice if NiftyStats could come up with an easy import.

bmwracer41 01-06-2017 04:14 PM

Site down

seems their site is down and their emails are bouncing back from their support

???????

MattJustin 01-06-2017 05:14 PM

this blows.. (yes i came out of woodworks for this)

Neil come back.. we need you!!

hope hes not dead :(

Pornopat 01-06-2017 11:57 PM

Switching to Nifty today.
Neil thanks for a great run. I hope you are okay.

miguel7 01-07-2017 01:15 AM

Is there MAC version for NiftyStats? I see only .exe file to download.

e-god 01-07-2017 01:29 AM

I still had 6 months left of my yearly subscription of SR.. heh

@NiftyStats Jenna, would be nice of you if you had a coupon for those moving from SR :)

bmwracer41 01-07-2017 02:59 AM

No matter what, this is unacceptable and tells me this is an unreliable business...plain and simple

Emails bouncing back , the writing is on the wall

If the guy is sick or what, I understand an unresponsive email but a bounce back ???

Do the math.Things aint good in his house

Bounced e-mail indicate how in case if he uses host or anything what need to be paid on monthly bases, if it's not paid then it stop working.

Given the amount of people who are likely going to make the switch to NS from SR, a coupon would probably result in more people opting immediately for the annual membership.

I'm admittedly surprised that they have not created a MAC OS version. While Windows dominates the desktop, MAC still has a healthy amount of users. But more interesting to me is that NS offers mobile stats, from what I understand. So, it would seem to me that not supporting one of the popular mobile platforms in iOS is leaving a good chunk of money on the table.
