You're an idiot BTW Social Security itself is 888 billion or 24% of our entire budget..........not those numbers you poofed out of thin air. Not even Defense is right, you are under there LOL.

PornDiscounts-V 01-08-2017 03:16 PM

Don't forget that social security pays for itself. Technically it shouldn't be in the budget.

Discretionary spending refers to the portion of the budget that is decided by Congress through the annual appropriations process each year

shiraz9944 01-08-2017 03:27 PM

Exactly why are you including the entire defense budget and then some random amount of SS in "discretionary" spending? It makes no sense. How about this, we cut welfare, that's it, one program 1,127 billion saved every year. It's useless trying to argue with someone that doesn't want to listen and has made their mind up that all Repubs are bad no matter what. I loved the ACA when it came out, then my premiums went thru the roof and I couldnt' keep my doctor.........remember that? Care has gone down and my costs have gone up..........why not get rid of that as well? damn we'd be swimming in scrooge mcduck's money!

Your numbers do not add up. Currently our budget is twenty trillion. Twenty-four perent of our budget would be just under five trillion dollars, so you are off by trillions and trillions of dollars.

Also, I am not an expert on social security or the US budget, but I don't think social security should be paid out of our tax dollars. We pay taxes, and then we pay social security. They are two different things.

Yeah, I know I replied to one. But when it's so damn easy to shoot holes in their statement...

Without debt Americans would be a lot poorer. Imagine having a credit card that allowed you to buy and buy and only pay the very low-interest rates.

The same applies to all countries until someone says "No more borrowing and now start paying the money back."

Barry-xlovecam 01-09-2017 06:09 AM

Nothing is wrong with borrowing money to either have something that you can afford to pay off or borrowing money to make a profit.

That is what makes economies grow.

Excessive or unqualified lending is the problem and that is in part caused by federal debt. You're putting the cart in front of the horse again.

What does the US government buy that will make a profit?

There's the problem, rarely does any government spend money on things that make a profit. It's all to keep them in jobs until people realise they fucked up.

The deficit will go up at lot more than $9 trillion.

Either you pay for the Billionaires to make more money, or you borrow it.

Do not think for one second that they give two fucking shits about anyone enrolled in Obamacare.

Socialist is the last thing Obamacare is. It's pure capitalism.

You know how government works -- if the money is available they will spend it.

And if it's not available they still spend it.

To spend.

The money is to give you thing things you can't afford.

You either pay a lot more in taxes or see the government put people out of work, lower benefits and reduces services. Trump is right about the US carrying too much of the defence of the world burden. Europe and the Far East need to cough up more money. Or defend themselves.

Do you even think before you post?

Cut SS and see hoards of people rioting and taking up arms. Next year because it makes corporations more money, more people will be on SS.

ACA has nothing to do with the costs of Healthcare. That's down to the US private sector squeezing you dry. If you think those corporations are going to take less money, you're a fool. We pay a fraction of what you do and have a better healthcare system.

As you said it's useless arguing with a death and blind person.

We surely cannot cut Social Security; I paid into it so that money is mine. A lot of people would in fact be up in arms if that program was cut. In fact, tens of millions of Americans live off of Social Security.

SS is not a tax it's more like a mandatory retirement fund. The only problem with SS is the govt can't keep their hands out of it. Republicans make it an issue, because they love to dip in take the money but don't want to pay it back. They want to kill SS so the govt doesn't have to pay it back which is extremely short sighted and typical dumb right wing type of thinking.
