The MSM is a disease at this point.

Whenever I watch a news report, even local news, I feel a need to cleanse myself afterwards. Just...ugh.

No one staged anything. Police let a handful of people through the security barrier to show their notes to the press. I didn't see anyone from CNN telling them what to do. In fact, I didn't see anyone telling anyone what to do.

Fuck, how many fake nicks are on GFY now?

Exactly!

And I don't think they're fake muslims or actors, but there are only 7 of them. If you draw a picture of their prophet 200k of them come out to protest.

They "let" the same handful of people follow the news crew around to "show their notes" for all of their shoots eh?

You are so weird lol So to make you happy, shit I'm gonna start laughing again :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh sorry sorry :1orglaugh so to make you happy CNN needs to have multiple cameras set at the multiple tribute sites for 48 hours then do a time lapse muslim head count so you'll know all the muslims that came, and then you'll cross reference each muslim at each site and say all are false flags, not just patriotic muslims that want to honor both sites? Bahahaha :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I fear Journalism is dead. The toothpaste is out of the tube, and I am not sure who can, or is willing to bring back integrity to the industry. I'd really like to audit a few journalism classes around the country and see what is being taught at the college level these days.

I do think there is something about having to fill 24/7 time on air. Competing vs newspapers and independent sites that need to have fresh things to report, and will mislead, rush out semi vetted stories all in the need to be first and keep getting the page views to survive. Its become such a mess. And if they do straight news, and great detailed investigative reporting that takes sometimes years to figure out and write/air, is there enough of an audience in this "right now" culture.

Scares me though. When I have to be skeptical that every story told is even partially true.

No, cnn needs to report it as it happens.

Since when is it ok for journalists to create a scene like it's some movie set lol

I have that same sense of dread. With the "right now" culture we are living in, news organizations are no longer in the business getting the news correct, they are in the business of getting it first and/or spoonfeeding their core viewers with what they want to hear.

Like you, I wonder if there is an audience for real, legit, hard news. The 24-hour news cycle hasn't helped. They need something to fill all that time so they grasp at straws and seem to put on air anything they think might get them a few more viewers and take up some time. That is where shit like this happens. You know a producer thought. "Well, we could walk over there and maybe interview one or two of these people or it would look a whole lot better if we just recreate the situation."

About a year ago I read All the President's Men for the first time. When I compare the work those guys did during the Watergate Scandal and I compare it to how things are done today, it is just sad. What is even sadder, to me, is that I think most people don't care. They might cry "Fake News" but in reality so long as the news sounds the way they want and it says the things they want to hear, they are happy.

VikingMan 06-04-2017 09:56 PM

Bladewire and Rochard are essensial parts of the GFY experience so back the fuck off. Plus Bladewire is the only person I know of who actually wants pics of my penis.

There's a CNN live feed video on Mark's link.

I guess they learned they cannot get away with green screen any longer so this is actually fairly authentic by their standards.

I don't know what is worse. Watching all the kook partisan fanatics yelling that all mainstream outlets are fake news or watching bladewire accuse everyone who have been here for years as fake nick's. Its pretty painful both ways.

at least you managed to wake up the lunatic who uses words that have been removed from the english dictionary since the 17th century. That should be entertaining.

edit: Oh for those of you that are unfamiliar with what is and isn't news, or if the definition is beyond your grasp. This was a reaction shot. Not news. It may have been staged somewhat but again, it is a reaction shot. The news was that there was a stabbing in London. That isn't fake.

Yes. I did watch the video.

I saw half a dozen news companies all prepping for some kind of live shot. Police let a number of people past the security barrier.... I didn't see any news company directing or staging anything.

This seems to me that a number of news companies set up a location to do live feeds from in the aftermath of a terrorist attack. This routine.

You guys are making out like CNN hired these people, bribed the local police, and then put them on camera to present fake news. None of this happened.

Replace those muslims that were shuffled in for a photo op with pro-Trump supporters and you'd call CNN treasonous

if CNN did such a thing rochard would be OK with it. this is true because he watches a group of people being assembled to look like a protest, creating a fraudulent backdrop for a story about protests that do not exist, & rochard says, no problem here!!!

if fox news did it, fake news fake news fake news.

dumb libs.

I watched an interview with the guy who shot the video. He says it was completely staged. Even the "Asian" not Middle Eastern officers were brought in just for this. The white officers were removed, they came in and did this, left and the white officers returned.. BBC was standing right in front of him waiting to do their own.

No, I wouldn't.

During the election CNN went to the Trump rallies and interviewed people. I didn't call CNN treasonous. In fact, I thought it was hilarious.

When CNN covered Benghazi and the email crap, I didn't call it treasonous. I thought it was silly because it was rather obvious to me that no crimes had been committed. But I never considered their coverage "treasonous".

There still are journalists doing the same kind of work you see in All the President's Men. The problem is they have to compete with "journalists" of the blog and Twitter variety with a furious tenacity to get there "first" and no hierarchy of experienced management to hold them accountable for posting bullshit as news.

We should thank god The New York Times and Washington Post are doing their jobs. If not for them, this White House would be getting away with murder at this point. And the Trump administration makes it so easy for the established papers to ride them constantly because every move they make is ham handed and amateurish in a way that's almost comical, so maybe I shouldn't give the papers too much credit.

The Washington Post and NYT are just as guilty as the ones you mentioned above. They throw out semi or not vetted stories all the time now. They are in the same boat. They do once in awhile do a good investigative report, but that is very rare. They both suffer from declining subscriber bases, and have had to resort to the "be first" click bait news. Its sad.
