In the UK it costs anywhere from $150,000 to $300,000 to build a small house. The population is growing by 600,000 per year. So on the calculation of 4 people per home that mean it has to build 150,000 homes per year. At $33750,000,000 per year. Can the taxpayer afford to fund this?

The short answer is no. So they borrow the money and we only pay the interest. Great.

Until you realise that soon 50% of those people will be replaced by automation and out of a job. Or on minimum wages and need the government to support them.

Simpler solution. Filter migrants so only those with key skills or will offer employment or the money to self supp[ort are allowed in. Reduce all benefits for the third or more children born after a year from the starting date.
