My dad took me to see it when I was 10 but the show was almost sold out. So he had to sit a few rows back. When my mom found out she was so pissed! I was scared shitless and did not go in the ocean again for ten years. LOL

Also: A Fish Called Wanda.
Funny as fuck.

The In-Laws too (the original from 1977).

1977 (a movie about Red Heat for children):

1970 (1973 the US release) the movie that all cosmonauts and astronauts watch before they go to the outer space:

1968 (a comedy):

1967 (yet another comedy):

I do remember it. Was watching this movie when I was a kid. Maybe something about 12 year old or so.

I was also scrolling in surprise of how is it possible such a classic was not yet mentioned by anyone :)

Some stellar picks.

I'd argue that at least 75 pct. of all the movies I ever watched and even more that I prefer to re-watch are now 30 or more years old.

If you'd want to be punctual then 1988 was also the year of many stellar Action movies:

Red Heat

- very well produced movie from the Golden Schwarzenegger era with major pace

Rambo III

- not that bad for a third installment and a trademark bow scene

Nico

- Steven Seagal debut and far better than 95 pct. of what his acting career produced

Action Jackson

Carl Weathers in a leading role, I wonder why he never got more leading roles. Also Vanity plays in the movie, and Sharon Stone.

Bloodsport

Van Damme in his prime

I've got a big archive of action movies, many on original DVD's that nobody else would ever buy.

Yep, I liked "Bloodsport", "Red Heat" and "Commando" of course. My mom liked "Nico". "Rambo III" was a circus of one clown - never liked it, while "Rambo the First Blood" was a very good movie. And course "Star Wars"! For some absolutely unknown reason it was forbidden in the Soviet Union (you were unable to see it in the cinema), so we were watching it in co-called video-saloons from a TV screen, via pirate cable TV (yes, in the Soviet Union we had a pirate cable TV) or from a VHS of your friend (I've bought my first VHS player only in 1992).

To be honest, the most popular VHS movies in the Soviet Union in 80s were German porn movies. Every Soviet kid knew the phrase: "ja, ja, das ist fantastisch!" ))))))))))

Plenty of decent movies from the 80s

One more scene from the Soviet Eastern. The Russian Easterns are like the US Westerns, but they are about East (Asia). Those guys are similar to the US Clint Eastwood personages (or maybe Chuck Norris, but filmed 2 years before the "Way of the Dragon"):

The Soviet soldier was going home to his wife after the Civilian War, but he's got a task to protect a harem of some Asian bandit.

Yet another one of 1981 (the Soviet sci-fi movie about a planet which was poisoned by the industrial waste):

Watched Rocky series earlier this year, had never seen it before. There were ups and downs but overall was pretty good.

The old rocky movies works too

better off dead is still great. Fast Times At Ridgemont High is still a movie I might watch if it's on one of the cable channels. All the old Die Hard movies are still good. Lethal Weapon..

And I still like all the 1st Star Wars films

I can't watch die hard any longer, it feels boring. Probably watched it too many times back in the days.
