The US has more than 3000 counties within the states. In 2016 Trump won in 84% of all counties, and Clinton won 16%. But you think the 16% should have won, because you are clueless.

Look at the 2008 election. Obama won with a record-low 22% of all counties. John McStain won 78% but he still lost the election. Without the electoral college, Obama would have LOST. Does that make you reconsider the value of the EC?
