I would guess probably at least a slight increase. and in porn it kinda used to be terms like 'shemale' or 'ladyboy' or 'butch lez', so it makes sense searches for 'trans' would increase as the term becomes more widely understood by the general public. according to pornhub trends there was a bump in searches for 'transgender' category content between 2021 and 2022, would bet 2023 will be an increase again

a lot of differences obv, as being trans or gay is no more or less inherently 'sexual' than being straight and cis, but there are def a lot of commonalities in terms of pushback against us all by the same groups

I feel like anyone in the sex industry needs to realize that people have used porn to make a fortune while not giving a fuck about the industry. Get in, make money, get out. We all remember who fucked us so hard with pre-checked cross sales... or has that been memory holed?

There are politicans out there absolutely ready to throw porn under the bus if they think it could get them elected or gain them followers. I feel like it is just a matter of time now before porn is blamed for social ills that have nothing to do with porn, but porn will become a scapegoat for social ills.

To protect the industry and the people involved, whether they ID as straight, gay, or trans, it doesn't matter, we're all about freedom here, freedom to do with your body what you want after you turn 18.

Maybe I'm nuts, and that's fine, I could be wrong and the industry could carry on like it has, but I feel like the next few years are going to see blame for social issues landing on the porn industry. Just look at the culture war unfolding, it has only just begun.

I feel like now is the time to say that people under 18 shouldn't be exposed to gender ideology and shouldn't be exposed to porn, but once people turn 18, they should be allowed to do (almost) whatever they want. This is a pretty moderate view, but we're living in increasingly extreme times. Like Duke said, there are multiple forces joining together right meow. and porn could become a low hanging fruit for politicians and groups to attack and claim that porn grooms kids. This is something that could absolutely happen and, if it gained momentum, could really affect us all.

Shit is so crazy right now, I just watched a video where someone had their penis removed and turned their mummified dick into a pipe to smoke weed from. This is 2023 and everything is wild beyond whatever we could have imagined in 2013... If you look at history, shit is wild and groups like the puritans did not fuck around, if someone rises to power and declares porn is the problem, we're all fucked six ways to Sunday.

I can't survive in 2023 Canada without a porn income because dealing with normal people is too painful and shitty. I just want to be behind a keyboard doing some work in front of a screen, and my mind tells me that the future may view sexual freedom as something to crack down upon. I hope I'm wrong!
