The e-books and screensavers are given away or sold via media such as websites, e-mail, bundled with other downloads or software CDs, e-book or software directories, auction sites, online classifieds, etc

The e-books and screensavers contain multiple links to websites. People click those links and that generates traffic. It is a VERY widely used strategy and is VERY effective.

I don't understand your comment about "not a direct traffic source". All internet traffic came from somewhere else, eg if I buy traffic from a linklist, most of it will have come from the search engines, link trades or recips. The linklist did not create the traffic in isolation from the other sources that are feeding it. ALL internet traffic sources are just passing traffic from one source to another.

I think you are playing with semantics.

I could pay someone to add my URL to their e-book or screensaver. The traffic would come to my site directly from the e-book or screensaver. I do not have to get traffic from anywhere else first, that is the publishers responsibility, just as it is the linklist owners responsibility to feed his site with traffic from various external sources.

I could also purchase links in a third-party's paysite membership area. The traffic comes to me directly from the membership area. I do not have to get traffic via another method first.

As for the classifieds, you did not specify adult. Plus there are adult classifieds available and if I get a moment I will find some for you. Not now though 'cause it is 3am here and I am going to go to sleep.

And re the OS system, sure it is not easy to do. But it is doable, and it is a powerful and proven way to get traffic. However I can understand your reservations about this one, but I think the others are totally legit. :glugglug

How is the screensaver not a legit traffic source? The fact that I had to post it to a few download sites is irrelevant, without the screensaver I would not have received the traffic.
