HAAA!!! YEP!!

YOU ARE RIGHT!!!

We bought some "RED" expensive (10k) Persian Rugs just last summer, and it seems to be working..

Now W ejust need to re-arrange the furnature I think and im set.

My grandmother who is big into the chi things and numbers helped us pick our lot for the home, and said it was very lucky the lot number and the address and points its energy in the right area.. SO we are set there with the home!!

Maybe its my home office that needs the "arranging"??

Or maybe i should do all investments on the laptop in one of the other rooms?

Stocks, the Yankees, the Blazers, you name it.

Im gunna dump a bunch of cash into the dreamworks IPO tomorrow..

Watch for that one to tank...

it's worth hiring someone that knows what they are doing. I spent 15yrs chasing ipos and just rode the roller coaster up and down. I don't have big days now but it steadily moves up every month.

The stock market is the basis for our country's economic power position in the world.

You can't win on Wall St? Tell it to Warren Buffett.

yeah we have that already..

Most our investments do well. Its just my side gambling wheather it be stocks or sports keeps kickin my ass.

My business does quite well. The adult, and the resturant do well.
Our more conservative investments do well as well.

But this side shit kills me..

Im just doing my normal GFY rant is all.. All is not gone. LOL.

This CNBC show on TV taunts me and I keep transfering funds to etrade..

And then i change the channel to espn and they taunt me and make me bet on sports.

I just cant win.

hova 10-27-2004 01:47 PM

do some research and invest in real estate, that usually works for me.....and for me its more fun then the stock market

Trick or treat.

FUCK.

Dont feel bad, i'm still down 15grand on a tech stock that went to hell. But on a brighter note I made a nice grip on PFE, when I sold out today (1.00+ jump from fri to now). From my standpoint the shorter kept the less risk there is. Look into meds, the number jumps are just crazy if you play it right. It's no fun watching shit go up and down.

But to be honest, there are brighter investments ... I have no idea why we're suckers when it comes to the market.

Thurbs 10-27-2004 01:54 PM

yah .. i tanked alot of money this month on options trading.

Wish i could give some good advice Boneprone. I've been in the online gambling biz since 1997. I've seen doctors, lawyers and others lose all their assets to gambling.

don't play against the house, be the house:2 cents:

dont play options

dont invest in individual stocks..

if your gonna loose make everyone else loose with you buy index etfs :)

also with todays tax incentive you ahve to be 2 times as good at returns trading than me if you turn over more than once per year.

I can see why you are having a problem. I wouldn't invest in IPOs. People get clouded by huge IPO successes like microsoft and mcdonalds but overall IPOs are a bad investment. Two university professors, Jay Ritter and Timothy Loughran documented the success of all the IPOs since 1970. here is what they found:

Average annual return for IPO stocks: 5%

Average annual return for comparable stocks: 12%

As a general rule, IPOs are overpriced.

Try real-estate. I agree with you that we are in a bubble but as long as you buy primary real-estate (not vaccation property), it shouldnt be effected much. And I gaurantee you if you hold it for 10 years, bubble or not you will make money. Look at it this way, if you have $150,000 in cash and you buy a townhouse, you can rent that townhouse for $100-$1500 a month. Tell me another investment, besides small business, that will pay you up to 10% per year in dividends and then appreciate.

A good investment, including index funds, will return an average yield of 10-12% a year. any investment that you think will make more than that is a going to be a big risk.

I got those IPO stats from Investing for Dummies by Eric Tyson. It way be embarresing to read on the airplane, but it is a good book.

Voodoo 10-27-2004 08:01 PM

Invest in Google, and watch alot of people scramble to move their funds when it starts to tank.

The compound average growth rate of annual total return to investment in the stock market, including reinvested dividends, has been 8.9% over the last 132 years (1871 through 2002).
