I was here then, unbelievable I'm still here. Seems like yesterday even though its been many many deaths ago.

Rochard 09-11-2017 09:06 AM

It's still stunning.

Politics aside, it's important to note the groups in involved in 9/11 have not been able to stage a similar attack in the US since then.

Reading these posts from the beginning, now 16 years later, one after the other, as events unfolded ... simply surreal.

Pray we dont ever see anything like it again. I was working in a factory at the time. I walked passed a radio and thought the station was reading out a war story. Didnt truly grasp the severity till i finished my shift and seen it on T.V. Its one of those events that makes you afraid to be alive

In 2001 we didn't have social media.... All we had was GFY. And we were a much tighter group back then - everyone knew everyone. We sat here on GFY and ICQ talking about...

Most of the commenters in that thread are parasitic media-types, who would call him names no matter what he did.

Don't play their game.

So a few TRILLION Dollars later spent on wars and repairing a crashed economy --who really won?

Millions dead and still dying --who really won?

Paul Markham 09-12-2017 07:16 AM

It was a culmination of a campaign to drag America into a war they can't win. Because the opposition is so brainwashed they think their god is the only one.

There is no god. He would have killed Bin Laden at birth.

I can't believe its been 16 years already.

All I really remember about that terrible day was laying on my couch and remaining glued to the TV. Just an incredible and terrifying event.

SilentKnight 09-12-2017 04:35 PM

Spent much of the day glued to the TV watchin' the coverage. Life got put on hold.

Less than two weeks later we found ourselves in Queens, NY while the debris pile was still smokin'. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel while they held a firefighter's memorial tribute in one of the conference halls next to our Bondcon event. Firefighters mingled later that evening with us - producers, models, photographers. It was so surreal.

Shell shocked Serbia has never forgotten the US bombed his house because he was pro genocide.

Paying respect to all.

Rochard 09-11-2018 07:33 AM

I had the news on this morning while I was getting dressed and it was just so depressing.... Calling of the names.

I still maintain we need to stay the course in Afghanistan. We need to say "you attacked us, and we are staying here until we are sure it will not happen again". If it means we need to stay for the next 200 years, then so be it. We need to send a strong message to the rest of the world - if you attack us like this, we will invade your country, and we will stay until for one hundred years.

since 9/11 the USA has been dropping 25.000 bombs/year this comes out to a staggering 425.000 bombs dropped on other countries...no country in the world has committed even close to the amount of terrorism you guys have and you actually get angry when somebody fights back? one event does not excuse another but what the fuck did you expect?

oh and the guys who did 9/11 to you, were trained by you to do this exact thing to others because you simply can not stay the fuck home...what could possibly go wrong eh?

americans are so brainwashed that they live in an alternate reality where they are the good guys and the whole world is just begging them to invade :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

you are the bad guys :2 cents: 425.000 bombs <----bad :2 cents: 100.000-s of dead <----bad

:thumbsup

Of course it will be remembered. It ranks up there as one of the most important moments in history for Americans. It ranks up there with Pearl Harbor, landing on the moon, and the Challenger accident.

SilentKnight 09-11-2019 07:55 AM

My wife yelled up the stairs for me to get out of bed. I remember the tone in her voice and I flew down the stairs to where she stood in front of the TV. I saw the second plane hit live on CNN.

I had the day off work and sat glued to the TV all day. At times it all seemed so surreal and impossible to wrap my head around. I remember one network had footage of the sound of jumpers hitting a glass structure at the base of one of the towers before it fell. It was just sickening.

I remember all the helicopter shots as they circled the towers billowing smoke. The horrifying moment the first tower collapsed...then the second a short time later. Impossible to comprehend.

Busty2 09-11-2019 10:38 AM

I’m alone now, with my thoughts
Of how we could make it~
Of how we could – get out…
What we’d been through~
And all of the trauma.
The smell of Nag Champra~
Shadow of a stranger.
I will not take you for granted.
I wouldn’t trade you for jade~
Or for diamonds.
I just need you to be there~
Just remember when I am haunted-
That I was just so scared…
I am alone now~
What I saw on this journey…
I saw history go down~
I cannot pretend~
That the heartache falls away.
It’s just like a river;
It’s never ending;
I cannot pretend;
That the heartache
Fades away…

I remember getting picked up from the train station after finally getting out of Manhattan that day (I was on 34th street)...I told my wife that the World Trade Center no longer existed and she didn't believe me. She was teaching all day and it's not like anyone had access to information like they do today.
