if thats the true story, which im sure it isnt since we heard it from kb. it would be totally legal to auction her stuff off if she didnt pay her bill. they always notify you first though. ive bought lots of stuff from storage auctions they forgot to pay the bill on. and ive seen people try and sue for losing their stuff and not win.

I think the question is over the rights to someone's diary not the right to the "objects".

There is some question over the legality of using someones diary that may/may not hold copyrights that would supercede the ownership of the property. Thus i could sell you my diary , but it doesnt give you permission to republish it
