This thread is yet another prime example of why humanity is going down the shithole.
------------------------------ Fact 1: One person posts some words. ------------------------------ Fact 2: Many get offended by those words. ------------------------------ Here's the issue I have with this: The opinion of one bred intolerant, reactive reactions from many. And it is this lack of self control which is one of the most despicable traits of a human. Fucking weak pansies, the lot of you. |

Steve was sharply criticized for his behavior around penguins, seals, and whales in a past documentary. If a Leopard seal would have killed him it too would have been a freak accident. Unless you are fucking with it! If you are provoking a reaction in a wild animal you deserve what you get! No matter how great a guy you are. |

To counter peoples compassion and sorrow with criticism and ridicule shows your extreme lack of character :pimp |

Yes, it's common practice for idiots to form an opinion before knowing all of the facts. Mike just craves attention, and unfortunately for him, he can only receive it by being an asshole. Happens a lot with children who had shitty parents. Not really his fault. |
"It stopped and went into a defensive mode and swung its tail with the spike. It probably felt threatened because Steve was alongside and there was the cameraman ahead, and it felt there was danger and it baulked."

Stop talking out your ASS. Steve did more for the awareness of conservation then most of us could ever hope to do! |
Actually when I come to think about it: he DID deserve to die this way. Doing what he most loved and a "quick", "painless" death. I'm sure his family and friend can fiind some comfort in that. Way to young to die, but a better way to go as being 75 and going after a long degenerating disease.

congradulations you fucking twat, 3 people i this thread actually agree with you, and are stupid sigwhore twats also

No.. not saying I agree with Mike. He made some points that I do agree with, but can't agree with the overall post that Steve "got what he deserved" - he didn't. Already posted stuff to this effect on this thread. |

you make a lot of sense. we should all just blow our brains out at 40. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
it seems that a lot of people forget that he got killed by something that basically... well, even if the "worst" case scenario happens and it stings you, then you don't die. steve knew this. i guess the moral of the story is that you can jump on crocs your whole life but you'll still probably end up being killed by something that is ridiculous, or old age.
to say he deserved to die is appalling. like other people have said in this thread, he did more to help animals than anyone in here could do in 100 lifetimes. he didn't touch animals because he had a need to feel superior; he did it because he loved animals, period. that doesn't mean that he wasn't putting himself in harms way from time to time, but he has 100 times the experience with animals than any self righteous hunter and has 100 times more understanding of animals even if he did put himself in situations where they could react in a defensive manner. i would be willing to bet that he was a better person than any one of us. i would also be willing to bet that he took less risks with other parts of his life than any fun loving person out there. wild animals are so foreign to most people and we think there is a lot more danger in that realm than in the things we do every day. most people are scared of snakes, scorpions, black widows, and other creatures and will do there best to never go near one because they are so "dangerous", but they will still hop in their car every once in a while after having a few drinks and drive home. what is more dangerous? Who deserves to die?? |
mike south is a scumbag, he sucks 4 ever

The other side is a much more exciting and adventurous place than this simplistic plane of physical existence.
He completed his mission here with gusto and flair and has moved on to the higher realms of life. |
I'm sure those of you who agree that Steve deserved it would also agree that anyone that contracts HIV also deserves it. After all, they were engaging in knowingly dangerous activities, and in the case of anyone in porn, they are doing it for a living. They all know the risks, so therefore, Darwin is at work with them to, I guess. Hell, Mike makes a living off of guys and girls that, when they DO get and STD or worse, they will have deserved it. I'm sure Mike feels the same way.

a lot of you people who're following mikesouth's negative opinion are fucking stupid.
did any of you, for even a split second, think of the possibility that irwin might have, hah, KNOWN the risks and ACCEPTED the consequences of what he was doing? including death? you know how MANY OTHER people have dangerous occupations that could result in death, and know it, but do it anyway? MILLIONS. firefighters, soldiers, law enforcement, construction, pilots, etc etc etc... are all of those people *morons* and deserving of death when they die? sure, you might say what they do is a necessity of society, but how is what they do, any different than what steve did? steve raised millions of dollars, and made changes in the world that .0000000001% of the population would ever be able to make. his methods of approaching and presenting animals were a necessity to make changes, no one would have watched otherwise. he put his neck on the line time after time because he geniunely cared about animals, and he knew what he had to do to get views. like you, except your "cause" is greed and controversy. sure, give anyone the option of knowing whether or not they're going to die at a certain time, doing what they're doing... of course they're going to choose not to die... especially when they have a family. but they accept uncertainty in the name of making positive change. so instead of shitting on the guy, give him the praise and respect he deserves for having the balls to be different and make change. |

wow thats rough. I didnt go through all the pages, just since people started just gettin harsh.
The dude died, trying to teach everyone a little more about wildlife. He passed, why not appreciate what he tried to do instead of bashing the guy after hes gone. Dude had issues yeah, but its not the time to bash him. |

wrong. entertainment and ratings were a pre-requisite of accomplishing his ultimate goal of wildlife conservation. he would not have been able to raise millions of dollars and make the changes he made without performing in the manner he did. the ratings opened doors that would have otherwise been closed if he had been yet another boring "safe" wildlife commentator. |
