Play the game standing up and when you shoot the speer press real hard on the left mouse button together with the upper arrow key.

Keys aren't pressure sensitive, as long as you press them, so I don't see how that works.. :P

I tried & tried and got 532 once, most of mine are around 520.

I don't think its possible to get 600 without some cheat or trick. Post the fucking cheat if you know it.
