Spoke to brandon b4 , he said he is gonna call you when he gets home.

the spider/crawler never got into Alecs sneaky hands. My post was too vague didnt meant o imply brandon was involved with cockaroach.

Lack of an argument can always be augmented with a larger font and vivid colors.

good ok at least you changed the font color.

fess up to what?

A. .XXX agent
B. Personal coke use
C. Firing employees because of item B (but wait, wouldn't this contradict item B?)
D. 'All of the above' does not apply here

philguy 06-19-2007 05:28 PM

I don't get this.

You wanted to go to his show to promote it and sent off a rider that would make Cher blink (why would you even need a rider - you aren't an actual celebrity off this message board?), he said no and now you go apeshit?

I'm sorry, but unless you're bill gates/sergey brin/larry flynt or some other super well known person, you're attendance or lack thereof isn't going to affect a WM convention in the slightest. People that go to shows, go. They don't go based on who makes a bazillion posts on a message board or spams their ICQ lists.

All I'm getting is you wanted first class tickets, a wad of cash and other stuff for you and a friend just to show up and when you got told "no", you're crying like a baby.

I'm pretty sure lensman, like an astute businessman, was setting up to profit for .xxx. What does someone doing cocaine have to do with this at all. This comes off like a 12 year old crying that their parents wouldn't buy them a wii.

Are you the GFY version of paris hilton?

I bet there were several hundred newbs here who up until this drama had no clue who Helmy was or even that there was an upcoming xbiz show.

This is first rate promo at work. :D

Why don't you go to shows? I've never seen you at one.

There was a full flash ad on the front of this board about the xbiz show. If this is some sort of 96'ish marketing ploy to promote a show, xbiz will lose sponsors and attendees in drastic numbers. I know any sponsors we send traffic to will be changed for wasting my time.

Fake marketing doesn't work anymore.

I never got in this biz to go to shows. I do my networking over the phone mostly, and ICQ and email, and believe me I've had many long conversations with a lot of well known names. My first mandate is and was always to do business and not chase after the "show".

Not that I'll never go to one mind you. One day I may just show up and cause a few heart attacks.

If I WERE going to this show I doubt I'd cancel my plans over some board drama though. :2 cents:

Its not just about the rider for the show and even being friends with juicy i couldn't tell you fully what happen here. what i can tell you is that believe it or not Juicy gets paid good money to promote all types of products. sometimes he does it in ways that you don't even realize he's doing it. that Rider is not that far off from other deals I've seen him get to attend shows or fly out to talk to someone about promoting things. I've seen him do deals with first class flights, Hotel rooms covered plus 3 months of really good money to promote something. I know for a fact that he makes more in one month promoting ( mostly by posting) then most part timers in the biz make in a year.

The bottom line is that people think he posts a bunch of BS but he gets results. people get a real return on what they pay him or they wouldn't sign 6 month and one year contracts for upper 4 figures a month with him.

There's only two reasons i attended this show last year. One is Juicy and the other is Steve Bugbee. they both asked me to attend and i gave it a shot. it was a great show and I'll be there this year to see how it evolved . I like both parties involved Juicy and Xbiz .. I'll give an honest report on my return :)

That's all fine and dandy but I come from mainstream. We worry about profitability, not popularity. Someone wants to pay outrageous fees for what is like a robot posting on a message board, that's fine. It's not my business. I just don't want to do business with them. That's an unknown variable.

If anyone we do business with cave's because of someone who has a 100,000 plus posts on a message board, the traffic is gone. You don't do business with people like that. You can't rely on them. They're relying on exposure or the whims of someone who lives on a message board, not numbers.

I don't care about self proclaimed internet celebrities or them getting comp's for their friends. I care about margins. I'm sorry, that's business.

That is nothing personal against you.

Take care,
Phil

there are HUNDREDS of paid forum posting services in mainstream...I have used them TONS

and if I was to see them at a mainstream convention I would buy them dinner

how is what juicy does any different?
