You need to invest in some legal advice since your moral compass is clearly lacking.

Fetish Videos 06-19-2008 04:07 PM

Positive outcome is positive outcome..congrats to chrome and kudos to videosecrets for coming around and doing the right thing.

One thing, Brad - "While we will continue to hope that sending an affiliate thousands of dollars a month warrants continued promotion" is pretty lame. The guy didn't quit YOU he quit the business altogether. All of your affiliates can NEVER leave the biz? And where is the love for HIM sending YOU the thousands of dollars a month biz that you got? This whole affiliate marketing concept is a two-way street. :2 cents:

Anyway, the important thing is you stepped up - which was likely very hard to do considering the public beating, so VS deserves positive comments now just like they deserved the negative ones before. Credit where due, etc..

jakethedog 06-19-2008 04:09 PM

well worded .. polite and to the point .... I truly believe this was exactly the right thing of chrome to do by originally posting it in GFY .. thats is why webmaster forums were created ..talk about what products are selling who is/was shaving ..programs that are having issues and even possibly how to help out another person we do business with ..and of course public discussion on what ever else we do in this business .. the end result will be good for both parties concerned ....Decent call VS now its settled it will be all but forgotten in a week .. and of course .. .. BEERS ON CHROME..!!! cheers ..

As funny as that graph is, affiliates don't link to videosecrets.com, the linkcodes are direct to their cam sites such as flirt4free.com.

See this is what I don't get.

You people are the only people who seem to think this way. It's incorrect in both logic and practice.

You're sending the affiliate thousands of dollars a month because he sent you a customer that is spending thousands of dollars a month. It's a commissioned based partnership for the duration of the active customer.

Thats the whole idea behind lifetime revshare.

There should't be a "blackmail" clause forcing an affilate to continue sending traffic in order to get paid for commissions already earned.

You marketed your program to webmasters as "lifetime revshare". I've consluted with all the revshare based programs that send me money and they have all confirmed that "lifetime" means the life of the active consumer regardless of traffic that I may or may not send in the future.

With that I'm happy to see that VS has decided to honor it's side of the bargain.

I agree.

You'd expect to see the traffic to videosecrets.com increase and the traffic to it's paysites decrease.

It's true, although all joins go through billing.vs.com and there has been a decline as well according to Alexa.

We'll have to wait a few days to see if alexa reflects anything.

1) It's currently reflecting up to June 15th

2) Alexa isn't very accurate

i am glad vs finally did the right thing... it would have been nice to apologize to chrome for some of the remarks, but at least he got his money...

in an industry that has so much backstabbing, stealing, etc.. its nice to see people come together to do something positive for someone else..

A positive move would be to invite all of you to the mansion in December. Hopefully, I will see you there.

I am sure it was cleared up but can we please have chrome back to verify that everything is indeed kosher with him.

As people say always more than one side and I would just like to hear from other side too to feel that it has indeed been fixed.

Brujah 06-19-2008 07:42 PM

Whatever the reason, it's the right move and I'm glad they didn't let ego's or anything get in the way. Good thing to hear, from Brad and from VS.

421Fill 06-19-2008 07:44 PM

gotta say this isn't what I expected when the thread got locked or deleted or moved or whatever happened to it.

I can concur. I'd like to hear his side too. This could be just a ploy beings the thread magically disappeared and chrome got banned.

That's right. I forgot he was banned. I was wondering why I didn't see his name in here thanking them.

Kard63 06-19-2008 08:13 PM

Goodjob vs, no one is right all the time so how you deal with being wrong means a lot.

Samantha_Luvcox 06-19-2008 08:21 PM

So, in total, how many people where banned over this before it was finally resolved. GFY showed its true colors with this one.

He posted on other boards where he didn't get banned for a legitimate gripe. He confirmed that they called him and resolved the matter. He's happy.

high five!

MediaGuy 06-19-2008 08:46 PM

This is an excellent position and correction to the situation and I commend you guys for it.

I held back from any position or posting or bumping of threads for the very reason that there seemed to be a horrendous, possibly premature backlash involved in that contentious thread.

I'm also glad to see I was right to hold back. It would have been in poor taste and a little vulturous to kick someone when they were down, to hamstring a competitor just because of human error and popular, and unjustified, vindictiveness and mob mentality.

Live video chat is a very special part and niche of adult entertainment, and we should either stick it to the nay-sayer, or stick together, in the long run.

Good move, VideoSecrets.

:D

I tend to agree - and am glad that VS made the choice to agree with webmasters in how their terms were interpreted. Though this whole matter should not have gotten this far - hope VS recovers from this and can move on since it will stick in the minds of webmasters for a long long time.

OY 06-19-2008 09:11 PM

Interesting. Like I said in my original post, VS paid us more than 5 years after we stopped sending traffic so I have NEVER doubted their integrity one bit. And I did not even know I was owed money. :)
