Great timing for my trip to the USA tomorrow.. Maybe I'll see if the rental car company will upgrade me to an SUV now :1orglaugh

I did that when I went up to Vancouver the other week. They were giving free upgrades so we took it. The cost of gas was so low, it only cost $100 to drive from seattle to vancouver island and back. Good deal and far more comfortable IMHO.

RRRED 10-24-2008 01:13 PM

Someone else told me the other day that there are alot of laid off reps now... Has this been an issue? I've been gone far too long... What happened?

The difference in the price of gas in different cities around the US is mostly due to varying amounts of local taxes... :2 cents:

Nice.. you drove right past the place I'm staying... I'm about one minute from that crazy shooting spree last month.

pornguy 10-24-2008 02:12 PM

IM STILL paying 2.85 as I have been all along.

Zebra 10-24-2008 02:17 PM

Just saw $1.99 at two gas stations in a row!
Nice to see gas that cheap, but if it goes much lower that really can't be good for the economy. Hopefully they both stabilize soon.

taxes vary and play some role in prices but the price of gas varies significantly within a city depending on the area of the city. that has nothing to do with taxes.

the prices we see right now are varying by well over a dollar per gallon right now across the US as prices adjust from the supply to wholesale to retail level. that huge difference has nothing to do with "taxes" either.

gigoloCooper 10-24-2008 02:26 PM

Go CHEAP gas!! Bring it on.

rhon23 10-24-2008 04:10 PM

TurboAngel 10-24-2008 04:28 PM

I don't have a pic but gas is $2.75 here.

huda 10-27-2008 03:39 AM

I wonder why all electric cars look like shit.

Its at 3.80-4.30PLN per liter here which is about $1.30. HUGE drop, it was over $2 about 2 months ago

Besides someone eventually posting the Tesla motors one. I really do not care for sports car looks myself, hell I barely care about car looks.

I do know people can purchase a hybrid right now that is gas and electric. Strip out the stupid ass factory installed batteries (most of which require special plugs and shit). Toss in some of the newer lithium's that one can special order. From there you can charge your shit off of any standard plug. You also should average at bare minimum over 100 MPG in it- assuming you start with say one of the hybrid SUV's or other large cars, better mileage would be obtained from smaller cars. Plus you would have a full electric range of roughly 60-70 miles on electric only at street speeds (55mph and under) again on large vehicles, higher on smaller ones.

To me it does not matter if you believe in the whole climate change shit or not. Nor if you think peak oil is real or not. I like efficiency as well as not supporting other countries that really do not like us.

huda 10-27-2008 07:32 AM

I guess that a lot of companies depend on gas car production. Wasn't the electric car ready for sale in the 80s or so?

Strickie 10-27-2008 07:40 AM

I was stoked on paying $2.85 this weekend

I took this tonight in the Mid-Atlantic region.

All recently laid off sales reps, feel free to ICQ me for the location of that Exxon.

Post photo's of your gas prices tonight & tomorrow, we'll keep this thread going! :pimp

I think that's a sign that the economy is bad. Can someone smarter than me chime in please?

dirtysouth 10-27-2008 07:59 AM

$ 2.48 down here on the Gulf Coast. :thumbsup

borked 10-27-2008 08:51 AM

What is the standard Octane in the US?

why is your diesel more expensive than 95?

And what on earth is Benzin? what runs on 91 octane?

huda 10-27-2008 10:25 AM

Diesel is more expensive because the government is assfucking all those cheapskates who though they would save so much money on cheap Diesel (used to be 35% cheaper than 95oct). So now we have around 50% Diesel cars and a nice base to tax the shit out of the polluters!

Penny24Seven 10-27-2008 10:31 AM

In Sweden we have 95, 98 and 99. Regular 95 is ~$5,30/gallon at the moment. Add a buck for 99

nation-x 10-27-2008 01:22 PM

it's $2.69/gallon here in Charlotte, NC
