Believe me, MY friends that own business KNOW what that means....even if you don't.

.

It means your friends are die-hard republicans and no doubt served in some kind of armed forces. I'm not a die-hard anything.

What should be done for the little guy?

I have a question for whomever wants to answer: what percentage of registered voters do you anticipate showing up to actually vote?

The turnout in that demographic during the primaries was unprecedented...and for Obama. I cant see why Obama supporters would come out in droves to support him versus Hillary and not do it when the opposition is John McCain. I think this argument is just Republicans grasping at straws.

Theres only one sampling that counts

I HARDLY call that a tie.

Why should anything be done for the "big" guy? Why do anything for anyone or even have presidents or governments at all. Wooha.

Take the polls for what they're worth, I like http://www.realclearpolitics.com/ because it displays averages and gives more of a general idea of what's really going on. By the way, check out that electoral map...if these electors vote they way they say they're gonna vote, there's pretty much no way mccain can win.

In 2004 70% of registered voters showed up to vote. (55.3% of the voting age population)
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781453.html

My guess it it'll be 10 points higher than that this time around. (65% of the voting age population)

I know you're skeptical about the youth vote turning out, and every 4 years someone says "oh but it's different this time" and they never show up.
BUT
You have to admit that just based on the sheer number of donors and volunteers Obama has assembled, along with the biggest get out the vote effort in history, that youth numbers are going to be significantly higher than they have been at anytime since the Vietnam war. (there's nothing like a draft to get an 18 year old to show up to vote)
