If not for Gates, Mac would be out of business.

Unlike some idiot here, nothing that can be done on a Mac can't be done on a PC either. In fact, has Mac ever finally gotten around to getting 3d Studio Max yet. What a joke!

Mac is for the socially elite trend setters. Their commercials should expose how bad off they are by trying to have to explain how much better they are.

Granted Vista Sucks, but Mac is no solution to that problem!

Nah...OSX vs. Vista was a game-chager.

HomerSimpson 12-17-2008 02:28 PM

still can do much more things on pc so my vote goes for PC...

Ramos 12-17-2008 02:34 PM

37 is the new 27.

tranza 12-17-2008 02:37 PM

PC all the way!

tahiti 12-19-2008 02:13 AM

PC is Personal Computer so Mac are PC. The question is Vista or OSX ;-)

OSX for sure!

the whole set up is kind of silly TBH, it actually looks like he got a few of his mac fanboy friends to come over and they now share that pic all around saying it is each their own set up :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

macs are really really great but they're just plain expensive.

PC's are great too but a lot cheaper so I use PCs, I'm not a designer anyway so I dont have a real need for a good graphics oriented computer. :2 cents:

The expensive part is true

I switched to mac a couple years ago and I haven't looked back. More productive and I love having a *nix command line under it all.

LBBV 12-19-2008 03:01 PM

About 2 months ago I switched from a Dell laptop running XP to the new macbook pro and I couldn't be happier. There was a bit of a learning curve for me because I'm a huge fan of keyboard shortcuts and had to relearn them (I could have cheated and remapped everything but I didn't want to go down that path).

I've always hated laptop touchpads (always carried a small USB travel mouse) but the touchpad on the macbook rocks!

Being a Linux geek at heart, I also love the fact that OSX is built on BSD so I can have native terminals without having to resort to cygwin or some other Windows linux emulator.

What I don't understand is why this "macs are good for graphics" thing has been shoved down our collective throats for years. They don't realize that much of, if not most of, what you see graphically in this world -- everything from a label on a food container to Hollywood CGI is done on a PC.

Doesn't mean PC's are better, because they're not, but they run the fucking world -- get used to it.

Yes, PC's have "graphics". It's funny that everyone automatically thinks you have to have a MAC to be creative. I've been an artist all of my life, professionally for the last 15 years. I've used both, but ended up on a PC, because the equipment costs less, and I can usually customize myself.

Macs are for : dumb females, idiots that got suckered into the marketing of overpriced/shit OS/unsupported in many ways/cannot play many games, wannabe hipsters, "that guys brother", 30% of the worlds designers (art industry), and people on hbo.

Macs suck. It's all presentation. People that don't like PC's have either been suckered into the cult of Apple or they are too dumb to not download toolbars, and crap. I mean, run a fucking virus scanner every week, fragment the hard drive, shut down properley, etc, it's not hard. Would you ride a bicycle down the street with a busted tire and wonder why it wasn't performing up to standard?

Dirty Dutch 12-21-2008 05:07 AM

MAC Rules!!

Mac is good for design but not for programming

dynastoned 12-23-2008 06:17 AM

everything i could ever want to do gets done on my pc just fine. i don't know why anyone would go to mac unless they just like the prettiness that comes with it.

Just got no clue obviously

My programming has grown in leaps and bounds since owning a mac. Much like a mac - it just works.

iMind 12-24-2008 02:54 AM

I think most the mac haters are the same guys that go into an apple store and drool all over them, sadly they can't afford a real computer, so they hate on them all the time to make themselves feel better :1orglaugh

it's okay guys, I was there once too.

The Sultan Of Smut 12-24-2008 05:11 AM

The question should be Windows XP, Windows Vista, or OSX since Macs ARE PCs :)

I voted PC since it works just fine.

TwinCities 12-24-2008 06:36 AM

A lot of people seem to think that the Mac Platform is good only for graphics, music, or video, basically creative professionals. Macs have MANY uses for business and your life. It allows one computer to be used to manage your world all on one efficient platform. You can see some of the real world applications here: http://www.apple.com/business/

beta-tester 12-24-2008 08:37 AM

Just install Mac OS X on your PC and you're good to go ;)

Altho they really look nice and fancy >:)

ROFLMAO :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

WTF you're talking about ? I do ALL my programming on the Mac (BBedit is great BTW)

If you do real propgramming (I mean hardcoding), the Mac is Just perfect... If you mean using a "programmer in a box" that runs on PC is programming, then you're just wrong

Just my :2 cents:

romeo22 12-24-2008 09:08 AM

I voted Mac for sure

mozadek 12-24-2008 09:43 AM

I prefer to use macs, the one thing I cant stand about macs are the douche bag fan boys who think they are cooler and smarter than PC users.

BlockThree 12-24-2008 09:46 AM

anyone who says pc hasnt used a mac in years, guaranteed. there is no way to use a pc and prefer it now compared to os x. windows sux ballz. my pc sits in the corner collecting dust.
