My G5 is going on 3 years, runs 24/7 I have never run a virus scanner or defrag. It has never needed repair. About once a year I run Apples Disk Utility to correct some file permissions. |

PC because Mac is sooooooooooooooo gay.

Actually it's a very stupid question because... Mac IS PC. Yeah it was a different hardware platform some years ago but now all modern Mac's with Intel CPU's and standard Intel chipset's made in China are just usual clones of IBM PC. Is there any one who didn't know that? There is no difference between Mac's or PC's annymore. It's possible to run Windows on a Mac, as well as it possible to run Mac OS X on a "regular" PC.

I've done both..and let me tell ya... Installing 2 flavors of windows on my mac was a breeze and both ran great. When I boot my Mac, I'm given a choice of Vista, XP, Ubuntu or OSX. ( All with very nice graphics I might add ) Installing OSX on my PC was a fucking pain in the ass.. and barely ran properly. When I boot my PC, it hangs and crashes and then maybe boots into the operating system I prefer, but most times goes to windows regardless of what I want it to do. ( the menu to choose if it happens to come up, is a black 8bit text menu lol ) Anyone that thinks you can run OSX on a PC and have it work like it will on an "apple built" mac is just wrong. And let's kill this "macs are more expensive" bullshit.. cause it's false. Go build yourself a comparable PC with Wireless, bluetooth, 20"+ high quality monitor, firewire 400 and 800, IR remote control, Webcam etc etc... same quality boards and HDD's and check the prices Mac < PC. ( they do fuck you on ram however, but those of us with brains by that elsewhere ) |

Now let me say about the price. Of course my CXXXC's are about 2 times cheaper than other IBM clones known as Macs and PC's. I don't have any unnecessary shit there, but those componets I have are 100% best ones for my needs. Both Windows and Mac OS X can be easy installed and run just fine on my self-assembled CXXXC's :) So is there any reason to buy expensive Mac which is just the same clone of IBM like my CXXXC, has lots of unuseful hardware inside and lacks of very important (I mean important to mee) components? Please give me at least one reason to by one of those expensive made-in-china Intel-powered Macs, Compaq's, Sony's etc. |

Cost under $700 and is quite a bit speedier than the Macpro Desktop I paid more 4 times as much for. |
That happened because both your computers have the same hardware inside (CPU, chipset, memory, HDD and other parts made in China). Why one comuter with a bitten apple on its label should work fater or better than the same computer labeled with "HP"? No really, is there any one who still believe in Santa and Apple magic? :)

Don't get me wrong, OS X looks great and I love expose, but I get much more work done on XP than on OS X. And I never get viruses or spyware because I actually now how to use my computer. I haven't had to reformat in ages. Plus, I can actually choose what hardware goes in my PC. |
I love my Mac, and have never owned a PC, my current widescreen imac is my 5th computer. Come to think of it, my first mac was an old 9500, 266mhz. Damn, how things have changed.

1) MS-DOS based one: Windows 1, 2, 3, 95, 98, Me 2) NT-based ones: Windows NT 3, NT 4, 2000, XP, Vista I don't think you are using Win95/98/Me, so forget about MS-DOS. Windows NT is not compatible with MS-DOS at all (you can run MS-DOS applications via built-in virtual DOS machine only). And about CPU's, sorry to tell you the truth, but you are wrong. They are absolutely identical on all IBM PC clones including the Intel-based Mac's. The only difference is label at the top of the box :) |
