Why not just do that, then?
Interesting and obscure places aren't that expensive, usually, and writing fiction merely takes time.

but I will never understand such atitude either ^
it'd require sufficient money in your bank or a stable passive income for me to just chill every day.... or explore obscure places around the world.. or do charity work in Africa etc
I'd hate to become seriously sick or disabled and come back from Africa or Asia and come back to my home country and be left with nothing...
money gives you a peace of mind, if you're 30 years old and do charity work in Africa then you're definitely a good person, but not safe or responsible if you're broke and have basically no income/savings....
if you have 2 million waiting for you in the bank, then you can do it with no problem
to sum up, I don't really need money to be "living large",.. but I need it to feel safe in this world...
