Anyways, the Las Vegas police have been called. They are taking it seriously, they have his blogs and vid, and they are going to try and track him down.

Something about the way that this is being done does not have a genuine ring to it. This is not to say that all efforts to stop him are not appreciated, but it is advisable at times to be very careful of leading an unstable person into a self-fulfilling situation.

In a former career, I've handled one-on-one suicide attempts. Every serious situation had a certain air of privacy about them and the most critical ones did not alert anyone at all.

This guy appears to be an attention hog and may even go as far as cutting himself or harming himself on a superficial level if he doesn't see enough of a reaction. That is, IF he is genuine.

Worse case scenario is that if he is serious, he will leave more clues so that people can stop him. Persons like him are psychological leeches, they feed off of the need for others to help. They get their fix by manipulation and deception, knowing that there are persons who genuinely will offer their emotions. Once the trap is set, they reel their unsuspecting victims in with little more than innuendo and a bit of imagination.

My advice: Don't be a sucker. Let the police do their jobs.

In his writings and in his vids he doesnt try to reach out for any help at all nor is he all "doom and gloom". This site has very few visitors. Its only starting to get out there all of a sudden. He makes it very clear that this is a storage place for his family so they understand why he "did it". He intends on emailing them right before he does it. The fact that he isn't reaching out for help at all makes me know for a fact that he has made up his mind. He's taking the last paycheck he has and drinking his ass off.

With that being said, he JUST posted a bit ago saying he's been drunk for over 60 hours in Vegas and that's why he didn't do his normal daily posting. He filmed himself across the street from the treasure island. He goes on about how all the windows are barred and it's impossible to jump anywhere. He's scoping the scene totally.

So I just got off the phone with the Vegas police and they already had all the info but now they took his description of what he's wearing today, etc and they are out looking for him. Now there is proof that he is indeed in Vegas and approximately where he might be staying. I gave them the name of the host of his site and they said they would get on it and find out his name and such so they can find out exactly where he's staying. They are looking for him as we speak.

Hopefully, he will be taken into custody and put in a hospital while his family is contacted. This might not stop him from the inevitable, but it might stop him from his current plan. I feel very good about this and I thank the guy who posted this thread. You may have saved a life, dude. Pat yourself on the back! Hopefully, we won't see any updates on his site from this point forward. That will show that he was found. Hopefully, at a later date, he will post and tell about how he involuntarily got the help he needed and is taking a new road. I hope, I hope.

He still hasn't logged into his youtube since his site's been down. But I got this email on my site from a guy who has been insistant that this is a hoax. I think he's the one who got the site and blog shut down. Notice the urls of the guy "Dean" though. It is NOT the same guy. Not even close. I'd love to know if he got nabbed yet or if they thought to get his info from his site host at least. I would think this would be worth that effort at this point. Taking his site down was not the answer in my opinion. Surfers did that, not police.

It's not up to me to determine whether the pages are fake or not.

Any standard suicide prevention sites or tutorials will tell you straight up, if someone threatens it or has a concrete plan to kill themselves, you report it. Period. I don't see the big deal.
