Guiness is my staple winter beer, Great flavour, you can have a pint with dinner and still drive home. Besides, its full of iron. They used to bottle it under the slogan "Drink Guiness... its good for you" and they used to (they might still do) tell pregnant women to drink half a pint every so often because of the iron in it. All around.. its a PERFECT beer.

Guinness is actually a light beer (calorie wise) though most people assume because it is dark that it is "like eating a loaf of bread" or whatever. Also - it is the only popularly available beer that contains protein - which is why my friend that is a sports med doc to the Padres and Chargers recommends it to the atheletes.

I just read an article about a famous microbrewer who was saying that many brewers actually are secretly jealous of how consistently good Bud is. Remember - when Bud was itself a microbrew it was winning prestigious world taste tests so being a snob about Bud just because it is mass produced has nothing to do with its actual quality.

imo... Comparing Bud and Guinness is comparing apples and oranges to me. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and what their own taste buds (get it?) prefer.
