Photosynthesis produces glucose, which is also contained in blood. So, in theory, a tree could grow without light.

WTF??? Jeez, that is crazy.

papill0n 04-14-2009 01:43 AM

many plants will grow in their early stages with no light.

Who knows though, maybe it entered his body from his ass, lost in a fit of denrophilic passion.....

being that i grew up in alaska and also lived 10 years in russia... i think i have a pretty good idea of what a fir tree looks like. the idea it grew in his lung is moronic to say the least. infant fir trees are more plant like than anything. thats a piece of a mature tree. its pretty obvious.

the assumption that "it grew in his lungs" vs the obvious... that it was a small piece of a branch that went down his throat is pretty silly and ridiculous.

further, (forgetting the fact that russian media is mere entertainment to begin with)... even article or doctors don't suggest it "grew" in his lungs.

Dirty F 04-14-2009 04:45 AM

Damn Russians.

Manowar 04-14-2009 04:46 AM

thats spectacularly fucked up

It doesn't need roots to grow it's not a full size tree.

You guys know more than Drs now eh? lol

Do you know how small your airways are? you are not inhaling a fully grown branch like that. 5cm is 2"

However, it does need some sun ;)

Yen_HerbalRevenue 04-14-2009 09:06 AM

Yeah I am not a doctor by any means, But I don't think a tree can grow without sunlight.

I did some reading and that specific plant does not require any sun light to grow up to a certain point.

The key thing is the plant may not be green.

So that adds a question how is it green? Or does it just look green because of the image? I don't know..

Who knows.. I'm not an Arborist or a Scientist.. I don't know what could be in the lungs to help a plant grow...

One thing I do know is it is IMPOSSIBLE to inhale a 2" piece of a fir tree. Your airways and your throat could not possibly allow it.

So that makes me think it's fake or inaccurately translated.
