If you design your pages properly, it really shouldn't matter.

IE8 works fine for me though I use FF more website building and downloads. :2 cents:

I just knew you'd come back with something.
It depends on your market of course, but that site of mine is pretty general. Look at the stats - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_s..._web_browsers: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._share.svg.png The usage share of web browsers. Source: Net Applications[1] Internet Explorer (66.82%) Mozilla Firefox (22.05%) Safari (8.23%) Google Chrome (1.23%) Opera (0.70%) Other (0.97%) From W3 as well for comparison: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp Post stats from your most popular site then GatorB and let's see. |

The W3 schools surfers are more likely to be geeks though using alternative browsers.
Wiki should be a pretty good representation of the REAL world. |
Mine percentages for the last 30days
Internet Explorer 72.63% Firefox 17.10% Safari 4.41% Opera 2.71% Of those using IE 7.0 52.33% 6.0 41.96% 8.0 5.29% |
Installed Firefox, never ever used IE again...

Funny thing.. for years when reviewing sites for links I used Netscape because it seemed a lot less forgiving of coding errors than IE was. Moved to Firefox quite a while back. Only time IE opens is for statsremote.
|
The only time I use IE is to check out how a site looks. Outside of that, we never use IE. I think we still have the default homepage in IE. We use FF for everything.
