Thanks hun, I'm going to order some of those now. They are crashing into the sliding glass door in my office a lot. I feel so bad for the little guys when they do :(

I cant believe how cheap it is to live there. Im sure the houses on th water are expensive, but this is nutty.

That's in Garner North Carolina :) About 200 miles from the island
I saw that road a few weeks ago when I was moving some of my stuff out of my other place. I'm in Surf City.

Thanks, I just found out a few days ago on a dinner cruise I took, that the water is so blue because it is miles away from any fresh water inlets.

majortom 06-24-2009 07:52 PM

Looks great!
I'm up for adoption...interested? lol

You can swim definitely, although about August the water temp gets up in the 90's. The waves never get to big, but it isn't the waves you worry about... it is the sharks... they get big! JK we have sharks but they are usually harmless.

Deej 06-25-2009 12:35 PM

Ohh very cool. We will have to get together for drinks sometime. I may have a 4th of July party. I guess the fireworks right behind my house are awesome.

But I will say, if there is a large hurricane anything like Katrina.. don't expect your insurance to pay you out properly :2 cents:

I have heard that from a lot of people. Hopefully they all miss the Island while I live here.
I pray evey night. Dear God, please let the hurricanes miss Topsail Island. Amen!

The guy in the boat is about to beach himself on a sandbar.

You only live once, so why not live happy, and not be freaked out by what others have to say about the climate and all. Every place on earth has natural dangers. Like Nike says, Just DO IT :thumbsup

Drinks definitely! If you ever get to the south end I own the business right across the street from Homeport rest. and Bar and right next door to the little market. It is a far cry from adult but it keeps the locals from talking...LOL

The fireworks are awesome! You should have a pretty good view, if you are where I think you are! I usually get on the boat and head up to just below the park in the waterway, a lot of boats to jockey around but it beats the traffic.

That I don't know it's close to Jacksonville, I ride with my g/f as the last time I drove I got a speeding ticket.:(

I'm so blonde I just put the add in my GPS.

I took a drive down a few days ago to check out the south end. I have been really careful not to let anyone know what I do here too. I can see the short bridge and park from my backyard, so it should be a nice firework show. If I do end up having a party I will drop you a line. I only know my neighbor here so far, so meeting some new people would be cool.

People are pretty liberal here so you don't have to be to careful, just pick and chose wisely who you let in on it. Your in SC so it is not nearly as bad as down here. The rumor mongers down here can be a little, shall we say, overwhelming(thats me being very nice..LOL)

Yup you'll have an awesome view of the fireworks! Just far enough from the crowd but not so far as they aren't almost right there. Definitely drop me a line if you have a party, I know of a couple barbaques going that weekend too, maybe we can get you so you know more people than just your neighbor. lol

Wrightsville is 9-12 miles south of Topsail by water, from the beach we are the second island up, the one without the big monster houses(thats Figure 8 Island, where the celebs hangout).

brassmonkey 06-28-2009 07:20 AM

looks nice

romeo22 06-28-2009 08:19 AM

I had no clue they did the fireworks on the 3rd here on the island lol... I was working on a clients tour and all of the sudden bam, bam, bam !! It was the best show I have ever seen.. All the boats were lined up in my backyard, and my son and I watched it all. What a cool place to live!! My son said "this is the best day of my life mommy" Can you ask for a better place to live.

We have to meet up and have some drinks... As I sit and type this, they just keep going off all over. Where you on your boat tonight ?? Do they do fireworks tomorrow too ? It is non stop ! I love it!
