I was going to buy a design either way.

To even show good faith, I will pay you for your time that you did do on the design.

Let me know your epassporte id and I will send payment along.

fris, if you can say what's wrong with that design, so i can redo it, we can finish it, or if not, i'll finish it and sell as non-exclusive (10 copies). you see it's not about money, i just have this scatch unfinished, and donnow what to do with it.

Hmm this is bad news, I was gonna order about $1000 worth of stuff from this guy but knowing this i'll take my business elsewhere.

Too many people seem unhappy with this guy's work and reliability. Too bad... his stuff that he finished looks fantastic! I guess I'll have to keep looking for a reliable designer.

You could probably just contact the designer directly, mberk doesnt actualy do any of the designing, I can give you his icq if you want.

:thumbsup

I'll take a stab at this.. I'm not a designer in adult, but I've always been artistic and think I can understand what happens to most designers, from my own experience.

Most creative people need to feel inspired while doing there work, and when combining artistic stuff with typical deadlines the clients want, it tends to make the designers go flaky after awhile. I know myself, I could never do "per-order" work for this very reason in regards to designs. I'd only do pre-made templates because there is no real dead line on that kind stuff.

I think it's also why you see many of the flip-outs from the well known designers that we have seen in the past. Too much pressure being put on them to make deadlines and so on, when creativity really doesn't work on the same schedule as a deadline.

I know myself, I have to be in the right mood to do a site layout and sometimes that might take a day or two, or week. Just never know..

Jdoughs 01-04-2010 09:01 PM

A pipe, a lighter, and your payment is also another reason why reliability is hard to find.

Creative people are born natural addicts. It's a shame but its a stereotype that rings true in many industries.

Not callin anyone in this thread an addict, but most get what Im saying.

BigRod 01-05-2010 12:02 AM

mBerk you do quality work, but you need to do some housekeeping before anyone is going to to any real volume with you. I have been using the same designer for the last 10 years first and foremost because he is reliable.

Having to price yourself into the outsourcing market and compete with people with torrent copies of all the software who have no overheads and probably don't even pay tax.

I need it tomorrow type clients
I want it done exactly like this, cause it worked in 1997!

90% of the decent designers have gone over to mainstream, more $$ means longer design times.

geirlur 01-05-2010 06:42 AM

He has always come through for me.. just pay him after the work is done if you're afraid he will disappear with your money :)

mBerk 01-05-2010 08:51 AM

geirlur - you'r absolutely right :)
anyway guys, i don't take any new orders anymore, so don't worry, make orders at other designers, and you won't have any troubles with me :))) thx for your attention!
