One. My best friend from school. Got involved with drug dealers, double crossed them and got beaten to death with baseball bats.

SleazyDream 08-23-2009 11:44 PM

does my grandfather count?

CDSmith 08-26-2009 08:02 AM

I believe the answer for me is none.

However, I was informed years ago that apparently an ex-girlfriend of mine, originally from Saskatoon, Sask., killed her abusive live-in boyfriend by jamming a kitchen carving knife between his shoulder blades. This happened about 1-2 years after I knew her.

I hear she got 10 years for it, so she should have been out for a long time now. She was hot, should I look her up?

Had a buddy of mine get a shotgun to the chest walking from the bar one night on streets of new orleans. Ive posted about it before, he was my age and they never got the guy who did it. Just rolled up on him, demanded his money, he didnt have any (he was broke just left the bar) guy put shotgun to his chest and pulled trigger.

never forget.

A friend from high school got in with the wrong crowd and got stabbed numerous times by his psycho ex-girlfriend a few years ago. Don't know if the crazy bitch ever served any time. It's still hard for me when I pass the parking lot where he bled out. :(

A couple years ago my cousin's kid (who had just started school) was killed by the drug-addicted father. Maybe someday one of his fellow inmates will do society the great service of hacking him to bits as well.

The moral of both stories is that drugs are very, very bad.

one guy. Was an awesome party bus driver. Was gunned down at the beach just down the street from where I was living. :(

Deesnuts 08-26-2009 10:10 AM

Friend and his little brother were murdered one morning by a drunk driver.

PAR 08-26-2009 10:13 AM

6... but 1 would still have been too many..

Monique Niccole 08-26-2009 10:16 AM

Zero. Thankfully I don't know anyone whose life has been touched by that sort of violence.

It's kind of startling that so many of you know people who have been murdered.

You know, the whole limo thing on middle class blocks.:1orglaugh This happened in 82 according to my above average memory. I never read on article on it or went to the funeral to my recollection but these following facts I'd bet a few bucks on at least.

It happened in Detroit, very close to Dearborn, the joy/greenfield area. It was probably a side street and could've been the area his girlfriend lived. She was driving and he was sitting in the passengers seat when a man with a ski mask approached the car and fired a shotgun at Jerry, likely killing him instantly. I don't think the guy was ever caught. It's a safe guess that he was fucking with peoples money that had the power to eliminiate him.

The other guy that was murdered, name is Tom, in his mid forties. These facts are fresh and reliable since it happened several weeks ago. Tom was a next door neighbor of mine years ago and his uncle went to school with my Dad. His uncle told my Dad what happened.

It's no surprise that Tom battled with drugs and alcohol for years and never grew out of that phase that many people leave behind before it's too late. According to Pete, Tom was shot in the back of the head and the chest. That sounds like maybe two shooters but maybe not. The guy was caught and it happened on joy/wyoming a few miles east of where Jerry was shot. He was shot on Ohio st and it was likely an argument over money or maybe somebody was tired of Tom's mouth and shut it for good. I hung out with him for a short period in the 90's and if there was ever a time where I could've been caught in the crossfire it was definitely with Tom.

WTF. Where do you live?

Vicious_B 08-26-2009 11:29 AM

Unfortunately I have buried more people, friends and family, that someone my age should but out of all them only 2 were murders and they weren't people I was particularly close too.

One was a girl I knew when I was 17. She was a friend of a friend. She was 22 and went missing for 2 months. She was pretty troubled so even having 2 kids no one was sure if maybe she just took off. They ended up finding her naked body in a dumpster. Her ex husband was convicted of stabbing her to death.

The other was an owner of a restaurant near the bar I worked at. I knew him from coming in for a drink once in a while. A fight broke out in the parking lot of his place and he went out without any bouncers and tried to break it out. One of the guys fighting turned on him and knocked him out with a few punches. When he fell his head bounced off of one of those concrete parking curbs and cracked his head open. They didn't find him until an hour later and he was already dead.

My uncle was murdered, carjacked and forced to give up his atm and pin # at gunpoint. He complied and they killed him anyway.

We were very close, he was like a brother to me. Its why I never have anything nice to say about las vegas.

ShellyCrash 08-26-2009 11:39 AM

For the Vegas peeps, from the sun times-
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2003...es-in-slaying/

Since then they have aprehended most of the people involved. I'll probably be in town looking like Feb 2010 for another trial. The fun never ends.:disgust

Thanks for sharing. You have one helluva story.

MrHits 08-27-2009 03:12 PM

Hmm...

I know the other side.. I know people that have done the murdering.

Some caught via American Most Wanted, and others not caught at all.

SilentSound 08-27-2009 03:41 PM

Some sad stories here.

Never had that violence affect me. Knock-on-wood big time.

docputer 08-27-2009 04:12 PM

I am have 4 personally. My cousin, who was maybe 24 just got married, and his bride shot him a couple months after the wedding. I still have no idea why.
His father(My Uncle) was killed when his store was robbed by 4 guys. He was unarmed, gave up the money, and they killed him anyway.
A guy I used to work with stopped to wash his car on the way home after work, and was shot in an apparent gang initiation shooting. He was just in the wrong place.
A guy that I was in a band with in the late 70's was sitting in his car, and his ex-wife's new husband came up behind him and shot him in the head.
Just senseless killing

Nor Cal... Sacramento to be exact. Also hung out a lot in Stockton and San Jose.

SteveHardeman 08-27-2009 05:21 PM

One and I don't want to talk about it in greater detail. However, I did get to witness the killer's execution. Lethal Injection. Quite an interesting, emotional, thought-provoking day to say the least.

JP-pornshooter 08-27-2009 05:32 PM

wow, truth stranger than fiction in many cases.
america is a violent place no doubt.

Yeah, I was thinking I probably knew at least as many murderers as murdered. Hell, one of the murderers murdered one of the murdered I know.

MissMina 08-27-2009 06:25 PM

1. My brother. He was 18 shot in the back with a hollow tip bullet. The bullet went in through his back & exited out through his heart. He collapsed & died right around the corner from my house on his friends front yard. All over a girl. My brother was defending his girls honor because some punks were starting shit with her. Well one thing led to another and long story short that's what happened. I was 14 at the time and I am 32 now. Coming up on 18 years now. Still hurts a lot and I still miss my brother til this day. He was a good guy. He knew the guy who did it. Went to school with him. He got voluntary manslaughter 5 years. He's out living his life like nothing happened. And in court no remorse at all.
