I think it's probably a different situation if the couple has already been together for several years and/or has been living together. The problem I find isn't so much people getting married too young, it's people getting married when they haven't been together long enough to really know eachother's values, goals, expectations, habits, etc. I'm willing to be if you were to examine the number of divorces from the last year, a good percentage of them would most likely be attributed to getting married too soon, rather then a matter of age.

It is very often nowadays!

1. you dont know a woman until she 'lawyer ups' and bites the hand that has been feeding her for years.

2. you dont know anything about the elasticity of any relationship until the shit has hit the fan several times over. once finances crash, kids are sick, cars are in trees, shes fucking the town/state, and you're at the end of your rope then you can make a realistic assessment of the situation. but if you're in that deep you're too late

Got married when I was 24 years old. My wife was 21. Been happily married for nearly a decade now and still going strong. In my opinion, the trick is to wait at least 5 years to have kids, which you should do anyways, because there is no point in fucking up your offspring through a divorce in case the marriage doesn't work.
