The anti-marriage crew is often comprised of wimps, whiners, and persons who can't commit to anything long term.
Now if that doesn't apply to you, then fine. If it does, then feel free to be insulted. Seriously though, there is much to be said about choosing correctly when it comes to a wife. Just because one guy makes the mistake of choosing incorrectly doesn't mean that marriage on the whole is doomed. Also, anyone who believes that the only way to control a woman is to make her feel that she can be replaced at will has got a lot to learn about the female gender. A man who is straightforward about what he wants from a woman, without deception in any shape or form and who can maintain a sense of honor regarding his commitment to her should not have very many problems, unless he is deficient in some area. Yes, women do have their own way of thinking, but obviously there are a few "men" in this thread who haven't figured out how easy it is to be a man and stop any negative behavioral traits before they become a habit. People in general tend to push others to see exactly what they can get away with. This includes women. Deal with it or stop playing the game, but don't whine about it. Quite frankly, even if the shit breaks down for some unforeseen reason, then what's the big deal? Are we men or mice? Too many "men" take shit personally nowadays, when we used to just shrug things off and trudge on in decades past. And yes, I'm married. Didn't do so until I was 32 and was damn sure that it had a good chance of succeeding. Even so, nothing in life is certain, but I've prepared as best I can, just in case. |
if you dont want kids i dont see any point in getting married.. really..

Oh and it's easy to take things a little seriously when your wife can get you kicked out your house on a whim.. and you end up paying her for the rest of your days... lol Yeah.. I guess we should all accept our new female overlords and get on with it. |

I think it's probably a different situation if the couple has already been together for several years and/or has been living together. The problem I find isn't so much people getting married too young, it's people getting married when they haven't been together long enough to really know eachother's values, goals, expectations, habits, etc. I'm willing to be if you were to examine the number of divorces from the last year, a good percentage of them would most likely be attributed to getting married too soon, rather then a matter of age.

It is very often nowadays!

2. you dont know anything about the elasticity of any relationship until the shit has hit the fan several times over. once finances crash, kids are sick, cars are in trees, shes fucking the town/state, and you're at the end of your rope then you can make a realistic assessment of the situation. but if you're in that deep you're too late |
I don't regret one bit that I got married.
I also don't regret one bit that I got divorced. I also don't regret one bit that we had a prenup. I feel sorry for people that's afraid of living life based on mistakes others make, if you don't fail you won't have success neither. |
I am happy with one girl since 5 years now but I am not married yet :glugglug

Got married when I was 24 years old. My wife was 21. Been happily married for nearly a decade now and still going strong. In my opinion, the trick is to wait at least 5 years to have kids, which you should do anyways, because there is no point in fucking up your offspring through a divorce in case the marriage doesn't work.
Oh yeah, and CHEAT. haha, jk about that last part. |
Got married in early 90's when I was 18 (my wife is even younger) and never regretted about it. Only gays and complete losers are crying about early/later marriage.

Friends don't let friends marry young. Unless of course, the girl is young and he's an old stinker.
