That seems like a pretty big stretch though - she's supposedly drunk off her ass, but had to be choked to be restrained, and nonetheless felt compelled to call the cops to come investigate, even though she had no proof whatsoever about her allegations?!?

She was trashed. He said he did not want her to drive when she wanted to leave his house because she was trashed. Offered to call her a cab or a friend to take her home. The police say he was arrested because she filed a civilian complaint and the law says they have to arrest him. The police said there were no marks on her anywhere.

Now call me crazy, but if he had tried to choke/strangle her he'd have left a mark or two. This sounds like she got drunk and over reacted to me.

Please cite any credible media source which states that the Police saw no visible marks on Tila. All that I've seen so far is a press release by Merriman and his lawyer, and blog/pro-Merriman conjecture.

Remember that when Merriman was suspended by the NFL for breaking rules for steroid substance abuse a few years ago, that he and his lawyer claimed he innocently consumed it via legal dietary supplements, although no "dietary supplement" companies were subsequently indicted for selling an illegal supplement, and the NFL also did not buy his story either.

The Shawne Merriman vs Tila Tequila case may turn into a "He Said - She Said" case, however a simple statement by him, his buds partying at his house in the early hours of the morning, and his lawyer, do not exonerate him by any means.

If there was plenty of alcohol at the scene, then why would Tila need to go anywhere else to try and get alcohol, particularly at an hour when alcohol sales are prohibited?

So you are suggesting that Rihanna had Chris Brown beat the shit out of her so she could get a bunch of free publicity? That is insane dude. She had huge success before this happened. She had all the endorsement deals before this happened. When I have seen her in the news after this had happened it was almost always people being critical of her because she was considering taking him back. She is one of the biggest artists out there right now. She certainly didn't need a publicity stunt like this. Did you see the picture of her face? If you think it was a publicity stunt I think you are way off base.

As for Tila, maybe she started all of this to get some publicity, but I doubt he had anything to do with it. He was suspended a few years back for using steroids and he was hurt all of last year. He has something to prove this year and the last thing he needs is something like this. If there are any formal charges filed against him he could get suspended for several games this year and this is some big money out of his pocket.

He just issued a statement saying that she was drunk and wouldn't wait for him to get her a ride home and he was trying to keep her from drinking and driving. Supposedly there paramedics at the scene and she had no injuries. It very well may be a case of drunken bitch syndrome or just drama between a couple of people who are a little unstable, but I doubt it was publicity.
