Russian for me.. I don't like the accent at all. I love Irish and Spanish accents.

Also got a soft spot for those LA chicks with their rich girl accents lol. Accents like Kourtney Kardashians.. love hearing hot chicks talking to each other.

That is not all, Hungarian society as a whole is all about kissing America's ass. Yet, they can't show the most basic form of respect by pronouncing words properly!!!

Take for instance the word "three" for the number 3.

Since they have an extreme hard time pronouncing the "TH" in three, instead of saying TREE, they say SREEEEEE

so, Mr and Mr Smith becomes Mr and Mrs SMISSSSSS for instance
South Park becomes SAUSSSSSSSS PARK
etc etc

Bahaha, about a third of the relos I know are Hungarian. "Ssreee" lol.. I don't mind it obviously, but it's a funny language to listen to in full flight.

Well, er.. Isn't that just ascribing traits you've picked up through the media from prominent figures and events to the country's? ;)

i don't have a problem with any accents. we're all different, that's something to embrace, not bitch about. travel beyond north america. jesus.

How many of you native English speakers speak ANY other language? I mean SPEAK, not asking "how much?" in Spanish. I speak 2 not including my native one.
Have you ever heard an American speaking Czech? Haha! And you're saying Russian accent is bad? Oh come on... :)

bhutocracy 09-14-2009 02:40 AM

One thing I've always found funny is how interviews with Brits or Aussies/New Zealanders sometimes have subtitles in the US.

Quebecois accent. It's like american french. Sorry Jean-Francois, sorry Ariel ;)

Birmingham, England.. terrible accent sounds like they've got a cold.

Andalucia, Spain.. They sound like they have a speech impediment and drop letters all the time.

Dutch people speaking english, not terrible but funny as they always stress the wrong part of the sentence. Although my Dutch is probably terrible to them, hehe.

South African is horrible, but I love Australian.

as a non native english speaker i have a hard time to understand scottish and australian people sometimes...

but blaming people who are not native speakers for their accents is kind of uncool anyways. how many other languages do you speak without accent, Mutt?

The sheep do not like German because Hollywood portrays Germans as evil.

Cajun accent drives me nuts.
Than there are Scottish. Even if I try I can't get 20% of what they are saying. Its like they have hot potato in their mouth when they talk.

Hahaha, well you are a guy so it is understandable that you could be jealous a bit as we can pick up pussy just by saying Oui Oui!!!

Any new photo adventures quantum???

The worst is French. French speaking French is bad but French speaking English is even worse.

Asians speaking English are tough to understand sometimes.

I think I have a new least favorite accent though. I just moved to the south and listening to these boogans communicate with one another is annoying. Like someone said earlier, these people drop letters when pronouncing words.

For instance: there's a little neighboring town called Cherryville. Most Americans would pronounce it "Cherry-ville." If you're a native to this area Cherryville becomes "Chur-vul."

hzoltan 09-14-2009 06:53 AM

It's just simply because our language has different utterance (I hope this is the right word :D), so our tongue has a hard time when it comes to the TH sound. You can see this in many countries in the world. For example you don't really say the letter R in you words. It's just a soft R. We use hard R, that can cause accent again :)
BTW it's true that we (hungarians) have terrible accent :)
But my english is very good, especially when I'm drunk hehe

What about how weird some languages sound, relative to your own?

I periodically watch subtitled movies so I get a bit of exposure to other languages, Swedish sounds awesome! :D Dutch is funny to listen to as well. :)

I'm a native english speaking aussie.
