Nice job! I'm one month into my quit smoking plan right now. Once I feel comfortable enough to diet I'll start a walking program myself.

WebairGerard 09-23-2009 07:50 AM

good stuff pr0 very happy for you. walking is great for you. I could never get into running and treadmills but walking and the gym I can do. Keep it up! :thumbsup

Bryan G 09-23-2009 08:22 AM

The worst advice ever is "Try not to eat after" or "never eat before.."

If advice is to NOT eat it is bad advice. The body needs food every couple of hours. Just not hamburgers and fries. Eat a nice healthy snack all day long.

Believe it or not a great place for TOTAL fatties (been there) is weight watchers. They give you tips that are common sense (let's face it you're fat cause you have none) and really make a difference. Even things as little as put down the food you just bit into. Finish chewing, swallow THEN pick up the food again. It helps pace your eating so you don't slam food down and overeat.

Good work pro.

Yea i definitely have issues about eating late at night, its the hardest thing to control, by FAR. I also need to learn to ("you've got to pace yourself bubbles!") pace myself while eating, i think that would definitely help a lot.

Thank you for your tips. :thumbsup

All you really need is to participate in a gangbang twice a day and you'll drop the wait really fast.

Good job, pr0.

Funny how walking can make such a big difference huh? Good suggestions have already come and gone... Don't eat an entire bag of chips... force yourself to eat 5 fruits and veggies a day. FORCE! The fiber will make you less hungry and the natural sugars in fruit will keep you energized.

Look at an orange or a nectarine and think to yourself... "Fuck an aye, God. You gave us a natural fucking candy and we still weren't happy!" (processed sugars)

From then on savor the flavors of what is already out there.

What I do that helps me (I watch what I eat and am in fairly good shape) is: don't have any tempting food in the house. None. At all.
If I want any junk food: candy/chocolate/chips-I have to walk to the mini market to get it.

I buy 1 piece of candy or one individual ice cream bar or 1 small fun size bag od chips. Ya-it's more expensive that way-but I don't end up eating an entire pint of ben n jerrys or a gallon of dryers......

Emil 09-25-2009 06:39 AM

I lost 18 kilos (~40 pounds) by eating low carb high fat. I think it's the only "diet" you really can live with in the long run. It's not hard to follow at all.

I eat whenever I'm hungry, and the food is really good. Like today for example, I'm going to eat a homemade pizza, the dough is made with a recipe without flour.
And yesterday I made some ice-cream without sugar that I will have for dessert tonight.
Fat food will make you feel full for a very long time.

:thumbsup

Thank god i never really "loved" sweets. I stay away from candy etc.

I just need to cut out Red Bull now, its the last "sugar" type thing i consume daily.

DaddyHalbucks 09-28-2009 07:44 AM

Congrats, you just drastically reduced your chances of stroke.

I think they make a sugar free red bull.

That's awesome on your weight loss. I want to try to pull off a few lbs before halloween if I can. I put on 10 this year :(

That's great, pr0. Exercise, cardio, working out helps lose weight. Stay in shape, health is important.

Jade509 09-28-2009 10:56 AM

Good luck, keep it up

pr0 10-14-2009 11:11 AM

Down to 238.4lbs now, So I've lost about another 10lbs since i started this thread.

Everything is still on track. Though its slowed down to losing less than a lb a day now, now its like .5 a day-ish.

Plus I will feel more comfortable about putting "strain" on my body once my cardio/heart is in better shape. I have not exercised in literally 10 years. (since i got into this business).

So I am scared to do any strength training or really get my heart rate up, until i can take off enough weight to lower the strain on my heart. :2 cents:

Of course I am not a doctor, nor has any health professional told me that. I think its just common sense to me in a way though.

Actually weight training helps in a couple of ways. First, weight training along with your walking would help slow down the amount of muscle tissue you are losing. Second, the more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn :) You don't have to go at it like an animal and strain yourself but, some form of weight training would be good for you and your heart. If you have any reservations about it though, get a check up with your Dr.

And good on you for sticking with it!

That's awesome pr0, keep it up.

For me, I cut out red meat and soda, started eating lot's of veggies as my meal, stir fry. Maybe once every 2 weeks or less I'll have some red meat. I dropped about 25 pounds real fast. I was about 210 lbs, now I'm around 185 lbs.

I'd love to lose another 10 or so more.

rowan 10-14-2009 06:53 PM

I started putting on weight around the time I got my car licence (which was a bit later than most, 25)

I used to live in an inner city suburb with good local facilities such as parks, libraries, shops etc, and good public transport. When I visit there now it still seems everyone is quite slim.

I currently live in an outer suburb, the nearest supermarket is 45 mins walk away, and it's impractical to consider walking to the nearest mall (just for fun I looked it up on G maps, it's approximately 2 hours one way). So you really do need a car to get around. You get so used to it that you still hop in to go 2 mins up the road, that's probably the hardest habit to break.

It's 1pm here, and sunny - I think I might go for a walk. :Graucho

rowan 10-14-2009 06:56 PM

An idea which just popped into my head - if you have a public transport route near you, try going for a walk and staying near it. When you get tired (and after you push yourself to go a bit further :D ) you can hop on the bus/tram/train to get back home.

Or get your partner to pick you up when you've had enough. (Encourage them to say NOT YET the first couple of times you call them ;) )

True that.

I used Clenbuterol in high school for wrestling.. When I wrestled freestyle, I'd cut down from 195(I wrestled 189 in folk style..) at the onset of the freestyle season.. so I'd use clen and lots and lots of running to get down to around 175 or so.. mind you, I was pretty ripped back then so losing weight was hard.. but yes, Clen definitely does the trick. IIRC, it basically raises your core body temperature which in turn burns excess fat(or helps the process along).. been a few years, though. :Oh crap

Glad they didn't test us here :1orglaugh
