That sucks and I know how you feel.

Several years ago I was over at a friends place and their neighbor and her friend were over hanging out with us. The neighbor kept calling this church that was going to be bringing them food and wondering when they would be there because they wanted to go out and didn't want to wait around for them. When the food did get their they were nice to the people that delivered it, but then as soon as they left they started bitching about half the stuff that they got. It was all good food, but they wanted stuff like pizza and TV dinners and they got food you would actually have to take the time to cook. I asked them why they took it then if they didn't want it and they told me they took it because the church was dumb enough to just give free food to anyone who called up and asked for it.

Some people are just ugly and bad.

SmokeyTheBear 09-29-2009 12:20 AM

you had to assume they weren't very bright to begin with , if they belong to a church they likely believe theres a man living in the clouds that can grant miracles , yet watches kids die needlesly every day , so it wouldnt be a stretch to assume god should already know exactly what they like to eat and thus it would be ok to bitch about free food. :winkwink: By helping out , you being an extension of god, you should have known they like their green beans cut french style and it was blasphemous for you to suggest they eat regular style beans of any sort, infact how dare you flaunt your wealth by trying to force this family to eat bland green beans..

wizzart 09-29-2009 12:21 AM

ungrateful trash!

SleazyDream 09-29-2009 12:27 AM

the dogs at the animal shelter wouldn't complain and would even be happy to let you take them for a walk

Wow. That's stunning!

man that sucks but you can only control your own actions

papill0n 09-29-2009 02:51 AM

MrMaxwell 09-29-2009 05:24 AM

I'm so tired of ungrateful retards.
Shit.
I ran out of food and money this week.
Someone in the family brought me some food.
You know why.
They owe me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
And even then *I* was grateful cause I know they don't have alot themselves.

Mother FUCK ungrateful assholes.. I've helped MANY in MY TIME and any time I am down don't even THINK THEY ARE ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND

If they're that entitled we may as well keep them in a fucking cage

GRRRRRRRRR

docputer 09-29-2009 05:39 AM

I would not let that put you off giving. For the 1 family, I am sure there are 20 others who would have been grateful.

Sarah_Jayne 09-29-2009 06:38 AM

Gift horse and mouth come to mind. Don't let a couple jerks stop you helping people though. A few idiots shouldn't ruin things for those who would be very grateful.

Big props to you for doing this please keep in mind:

- you did a great and good thing

I am sure you realize all this I have been put to the test like this a few too many times as well it thought me a lot including patience, heart and faith

in my experience humans arent always worth saving, however, a dog, he will be there godless, waiting for you to call his name... a man whjill be fuckijng your wife and stealing from you. Not a dog.

no good deed goes unpunished.
Stick with the animal shelters, you'll get lots more thanks in return.

No good dead goes unpunished I believe they say.

this is even stupider than doing what you are told.

Why don't you call US Treasury and ask them how can YOU reduce the national Debt if you are in this funky/charitable mood?

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man.

I wasn't told to do anything I did it thinking I was helping someone who had nothing!

themadwriter 10-27-2009 03:58 PM

have had the same happen to me.

Had an older woman ask for some change so she could cook a meal for her and her children. She went down a line of people that were standing outside a store and got to the end before she came back and told me that no one else had given her anything and if i could give her another 10 dollars so she could make a really nice lunch.

Made me think to myself what an ungrateful bitch!

Recount......

Wilsy 10-27-2009 04:04 PM

Rude bastards you not to try and help them out again. The anaimals would have appreciated it for sure. I would have took it back and took it to the animal shelter, and sent them a pic of the dogs eating it lol. Then they would regret moaning :2 cents:

goldfish 10-27-2009 04:41 PM

A perfect example of this countries overwhelming sense of entitlement.

Good on you for atleast trying to help.

NikKay 10-28-2009 11:49 AM

My grandma was just telling me that she was helping out at her church food bank and this woman would come in every week that would pull certain food out of the bag they gave her and say she wouldn't eat that so could they replace it with something else. And our family has known this woman for some time- she owns her own place and works a full-time job and doesn't have any kids. So basically she's getting free food that she doesn't even need and being picky about it on top of that.

Fuck em'.

People sometimes comment on the fact i only ever give money to animal charities, but this example here pretty much sums up how i feel about humans sometimes...

Because of similiar instances that have been explained here I just donate time now. The last 2 charitys I did work for were mostly time investments with minimal money.

Last one I did was at the Ronald Mcdonald house. Bought groceries and cooked dinner for about 20 families. Every single person there was happy that they got a home cooked meal, one less thing they had to worry about during that tough time with their kids. I will tell you its one of the most depressing places I have ever been. I was emotionally drained for a few days after.

I concur with that. Back when I was part of a church, we did a Christmas dinner for 20 needy families in the community. At that time I had no idea there *were* needy people in my area, since this is a pretty comfy part of town. We cooked turkeys and all the fixings, and those people were the most grateful folks, and so were their kids. It was a wonderful and humbling experience.

Don't let that families reaction stop you from giving back to others. The easy thing to do would be to to say F-it and never do it again. But don't let that stop you - there are 1000's of families out there right now that would gladly and graciously accept your gift. Keep giving back!

I have experienced some similar.

Davy 10-29-2009 12:42 AM

This is a very interesting thread.

You have to see the other side of the story, though. The members of the family aren't necessarily "ungrateful bastards".
They are standing in a corner and probably feel ashamed.

They are actually haggling. Not with money or food, because they don't have anything.
By rejecting some of your free food, they can regain some of their status.

rayadp05 10-29-2009 12:46 AM

Didn't you make a similiar thread in the past regarding how you gave food to the church and the people that received your donation were ungrateful? If I were you, I would stop giving to that fucking church. If your donations are not good enough then let the fucking bastards starve to death.
