keep reaching and trying to justify it. It's one thing to put up a copyrighted picture in your avatar cause you like it, it's another to take the same pic put it on a site and profit from it's use and not share the profit with the owner

It's one thing to steal, but only a real lowlife would steal from his/her peers... :2 cents:

If I took fubars pics and cropped of the marks and put up a site with all the images, well I think it's pretty obvious I'd be in the wrong. And even if Julius had taken a stick of gum from a nun as a kid, I think he'd have the right to kick my ass, lmao.

If I upload a music video to youtube.... how is that any different if I upload some other companies porn video to a tube?.

it's not different at all really. The only real difference is we know most "bad tubes" feed their content themselves not through user submits, thus using the dmca to bypass what would normally be "taboo" at best. But the same could be said for youtube, back in the "good old days" of the internet, using the excuse of "someone else uploaded it, and i wont/cant remove it unless you make a formal complaint using the following process spelled out in the dmca " wouldn't have gotten you very far.

Either way it harms the content owner and the value of the product.

1. Placing a small image from a mainstream movie in your sig does not cause material harm to the copyright holder.

2. The image in the sig may or MAY NOT be used to promote a commercial purpose.

3. The poster probably isn't basing their entire business around stealing the small thumbnail from a mainstream movie.
