Teen Revenue tried that, judge laughed them out of court in California.

great blog and article billy watson

there will always be people willing to pay for porn, affluent older men who would rather just pay and to whom 30 dollars a month is nothing. unfortunately that's probably 25% of the market for porn, which means if we all stay in porn on average we'll make 25% of what we have. but that's not how it will work, many will leave and those left behind will make 40-50% of what they have in the past and work twice as hard and invest more to make it.

My :2 cents: on this article...

first, the reason why "porn princess" is out of a job is because she is asking for to much and shes not very good at what she does. With the economy in the shitter, girls (and ones that normally wouldn't do porn) are coming out of the wood work.

Ive talked to a couple of girls, who were bar tenders or even friends of friends and once they found out that you have even a thread of a connection in the adult industry they begged to be in and for cheap!

so the surplus of talent has now decreased the price you have to pay them (economics 101... im glad I paid attention the 2nd time I had to take this class in college :1orglaugh). but silly porn girls think they deserve to get paid more

I can't argue that tubes are killing some of the business, but not all of it. porn wont shut down because of tubes and if you think that, your just stupid. however I do agree that it has had an impact on a lot of our sites and conversions, especially as an affiliate.

why would someone want to come to my MGP/TGP, download files and risk either getting caught with porn on their computer or getting a virus? with a tube, they wack and go... pretty ingenious

however, look at the content on the tubes. its all hardcore general type. what about the people looking for a fetish? what about a solo babe? there is still a huge market for that.

finally, regardless of tubes or people stealing content, the business model of selling people access to videos and pictures will eventually change. IMO, cam and live sites will become more and more popular as time goes on where users can direct what they want to see.

Good Post, Porn isn't dying as much as it is changing. :thumbsup

God for years now I have continually said the same thing as mentioned in that article - porn today has no intrigue anymore, it's shitty - poorly shot and with scenes that not too many people want to see anymore and are bored. Get some creativity and quality going again - not too mention someone needs to crack down on stolen content !! Start doing that and who knows what will happen.

Porn is not dead - creative porn is

I am sure if Britney or some other celeb came up with a sex tape people would make millions - so the money is there - just the intrigue and idea isn't. Tubes are the internet's version of a parking lot with tons of cars all rev'd up waiting to go somewhere - let's give them something worthwhile to start driving again - then the traffic will show up

I'm not only thinking it...I see it on my statsremote every month. There are problems in this industry, always were always will be. There are problems in other industries, too...always were always will be.

However one day this too will probably change as well. Just a matter of time.

I can pretty much get any song I want out there for free, but I still choose to buy music and songs from iTunes...

Bros -- this isn't an "article". It's a blog. A blog for my readers. My 2 cents.

Just FYI, GFY.

"You just left a Tube Site. Admit it. You just jacked it for free, and you probably watched a half dozen full length scenes before blowing you load, too, and you didn?t shell out a penny. You didn?t have to worry about downloading some weird codec. You didn?t have to worry about downloading a file that might, in fact, was a virus. You didn?t have to give up your e-mail. No joining some creepy forum. You didn?t even have to wait for the file to fucking download. You just pulled down your pants, made sure Wifey wasn?t on her way home, pressed a play button and cranked one out. Then, you cleaned up, checked out what I have to say today, and now you?re on your way out to start your day. Or finish it. Or continue it. Whatever."

Very well said.

I'm going to deal with Batts, someday.

I'm focused on moving forward, rather than holding onto the past.
