from what I can tell the russians have confirmed it was a failed bulava-missile launched by the sub Dmitriy Donskoy (typhoon). Navtex also confirmed that.

Has anyone checked the experiment calendar at CERN. This could be a precursor to a blackhole opening above my house. LOL.

Nice find. That looks almost exactly like it. If this is what it is, it seems odd that it was so low in the sky and looked very 2-dimensional.

EDIT
After watching this https://youtube.com/watch?v=Zx8i5EfmYU4, I believe this is probably what it is. If so that thing was way up in the air or upper atmosphere.

Reminds me of an oldschool flashlight, how you could adjust the focus on the light... Prob someone fucking around with a huge light or some sorta laser maybe?

anicetan 12-09-2009 08:49 PM

Correct. Intercontinental from a sub near Arkhangelsk. Confirmed from John Espen Lien, a senior spokesman with the Norwegian Army's HQ in Bodo today.

How many more will miss that when reading the thread? That's GFY :)

It seemes that they actually do. So far they've tested 12 Bulava rockets and 7 have failed and only 1 has been a success (ref lenta.ru). Not sure how good or bad of a trackrecord this is hounestly. Bulava is a subversion of the rocket Topol-M and is designed to carry nuclear weapons.

Itar-Tass is confirming that it was a failed rocket aswell. Russia has denied so far but are confirming today. The first two steps worked but the third failed and it deviated from it's original path leaving a blueish spiral...

No santa and no jesus for those that placed their bets with Nordicbet.com :)
