if its not affecting his work.. then its none of your business.
HAHAHA i guess it will only be your business when he starts stealing, lying and when he freaks out and comes in with a huge knife and starts stabbing people. then you can fire him probably. but make sure you follow procedure. haha. fucking people. a drug addict should be fired immediately. period. would you be asking this question if you had proof positive that he rapes women daily or steals cars every night or had just robbed a gas station? do you understand your own legal obligation to report illegal behavior your aware of ... or of your own potential liability and the liability your business faces if it can be proven you have been aware of this behavior and he does something wrong? if you like him or care about him, offer to get him help...if he doesn't understand he needs help, then you can't force it on it. but any mature, reasonable adult person understands that you need to distance yourself from this person immediately and do whats right for your business/employees. |
I know people that drink as much as one glass of wine per week and they're more unreliable to work with than a drug user...

It could be good now, but it won't end good. Fire him.

the question is: DOES HE WANT TO BE CLEAN?

Offer them help and if he/she accepts it and they keep to it then its all good, if they refuse help then I would get rid of them

Alright so I've have been looking this shit up and found in no more than 5 seconds:
" Many things can impact your business and some of those are negative. If you suspect an employee is using the devastating drug Methamphetamine, also known as Crank, Meth, Speed, Ice, Crystal, or Glass, here are some consequences or behaviors to watch for: ~ employee theft, fraud, embezzlement ~ on the job accidents ~ excessive sick leave ~ worker's compensation claims ~ poor performance, workmanship, or customer service ~ workplace aggression, violence ~ company liability ........ What to do about it: Every business should have an employee drug policy in place to cover liabilities and procedures regarding suspicions of drug use. " So basically they say you'd best get rid of him. |
