do you realize that had this quake happened in the U.S. and 100.000 people died all at once that the end result could very well be that we end up being a third world country? Did you see what Sept 11 alone did to our economy? Fuck AIDS and Cancer ... we need a cure for stupid |

Well, I grew up in Panama so perhaps because of it's relative closeness to Haiti, I grew up very aware of it being one of the poorest countries in the world. While in school we used to do charity events through Yele Haiti and other programs. So needless to say, hearing that this happened on top of what the country already suffers on a daily basis is very sad.
And yeah I did donate, not much and not to make me feel better but because I hope it helps the people of Haiti. |

I gave a little, but only because they need food and medical services.
They shouldn't get a dime to rebuild since it was their own lax building codes (or I should say no building codes) that caused this. |
