A Richmond police spokeswoman confirmed to CNN that a bullet was fired at the congressman's office. "We are investigating the circumstance surrounding it," spokeswoman Karla Peters said.

Cantor also said that he had received threatening messages but that he would not publicly release the messages out of concern that doing so would only incite further violence.

He also accused Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine and Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland -- a member of the Democratic House leadership -- of "fanning the flames" of violence by using threats that have been made against Democratic members "as political weapons."

Btw... before he made that statement 6 democratic offices had bricks thrown through the windows, half the democratic congress received death threats, were spit on, called racial epithets and Clyburn himself has been getting death threats and racist faxes and phone calls... not to mention that one of the tea party people mistakenly put the address of an Ohio congressman's brother on his blog and that night someone cut the propane line going into his house.

There has been a large increase in militia activity and a call to arms by the 3 percenter crowd... a movement that spawned the bombing in OK City... they are still pissed off about Waco.

I think this is attempt of the democrats to discredit the tea party as a bunch of loons, they start reporting every nut job that contacts them to the press in hopes of sympathy from the populous. Saying it's the people outside there that are protesting, So the GOP is going to do the same thing. They get threats and such all the time, there are a lot of LC's out there.

I'll bet the next couple months are going to be interesting, I saw where the president is going to spend 5 million dollars to promote the healthcare bill to the Nation!

Well he can sell all he wants, in 7 months when the unemployment is still at this level and he has done nothing about it, there will be some job openings

IMO the Republicans set this up so they could say it's happening to them too.

If a crazy liberal was going to do this, it wouldn't be from inside a nearby building.
