64 bit of course. If for some odd reason you still want to put 32bit on there then there is no point in buying 12gbs of ram since you will only able to use 3 gb of it.

here is my experience after building my entire rendering array.
Just by a top of the like dell, gateway, or HP, add a second graphics card and you're good.
You only need to build your own if you want raids and stuff like that.
Save your money and time and please take my advice.

if using multiple monitors and multitasking is a priority, you can buy 2 weaker pcs, most of graphic cards have 2 outputs, and combine them with synergy program synergy2.sourceforge.net it allows you to control 2 or more computers with 1 mouse and keyboard.
