The reporter has said he does not support us being in Afghanistan and that he thought the piece was a success in that, it brings attention to Afghanistan. Which may also be why McChrystal did what he did. He's not a stupid man, but he either did this to draw attention, or he had a major brain fart.
And it worked. All questions are now pointing to: What the fuck are we still doing there 9 years later? What is the end goal here? |

A bunch of individuals of many nationalities, using the remote fields, did attack you ... Just for the fun of it, lets suppose a bunch of Jehova's witness have a camp in Nebraska. They prepare an attack against Italy ( random choice ) because of what ever reason. They blow up the Vatican... Is Italy right to blow up the USA ? Should they ask NATO to join and occupy the USA ... Stop one in a while and think ... |

On June 15, 2010, General Petraeus momentarily fainted while being questioned by the Senate Armed Services Committee. He quickly recovered and was able to walk and exit the room without assistance. [150]

I read the article today.
While I can see places/times in history when something like COIN might have worked, I don't think this is the place, or time. I have respect for the General in that (based on the article) he seemed to put himself out on the line with the troops. I have disdain for the General for the part he took in the Tillman cover-up. No matter what he thinks of President Obama, or VP Biden, I think that as a member of the armed forces, he was out of line in his comments in front of a reporter. |

The Bush administration stated that, as policy, it would not distinguish between terrorist organizations and nations or governments that harbor them, so in a response to the terrorist attack on 9/11 to the world trade center, we attacked Afghanistan with operation Enduring Freedom. |
Quote:
I don't give a shit what Bush said ... after all, he said there were WMD, that he knew where Bin Laden is .. and so on. So you do agree that if a Greek prepares an attack on Canada from Nebraska, we should bomb the shit out of you ... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh FYI, there was not a single afghan in those planes ( at least as terrorists ... but many Saudis... ). Now, let the insults be heard ... |
Quote:
They were harboring terrorist, that has never been in doubt Attacking Afghanistan for that, the WMDs were about Iraq, I never thought attacking Iraq was a good thing and never will! Again, stop being a moron |
Quote:
You just cant answer : so, if the USA us harboring terrorists ( to other nations ) , it is OK to bomb you back to the far-west ... lol Afghanistan = terrorists Iraq = WMD Iran= nukes Korea = he is a midget Venezuela = He is to full of himself Israel = all kosher, no problem ... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh Funny how it was not OK for the Russians to be there .. they were fighting muslims insurgents as well .... So Bush = it is gold Obama says = it is shit You are so easy to predict. |
Quote:
I doubt anyone in Afghanistan had any idea where those guys were. Why didn't we attack Saudi Arabia? Why aren't we attacking Somalia right now? Isn't Somalia harboring terrorists? They aren't even trying to hide it. You gotta see past the bs man. |

I don't think we should be at war with anyone, if someone attacks us, level their capitol from a distance. And if you're going to bring up terroists, then the list starts with some of the presidents friends like William Ayers |
Quote:
So do we "level" Washington from a distance too? That's where these guys came from. |

So were there actually people who felt that this jackass should have kept his position?
I've only heard one person say so, and it was republican strategist Ron Christey. A true partisan jackass who is smart enough to know that what he says is pure shit, but does so anyway out of blind loyalty to a PARTY. A politcal PARTY. Country first? No. Party first. |

Amazing how you can drink the koolaid of BUSH because " he is my ( white ) president " but the koolaid of Obama : different story... |
Quote:
Why are you guys hammering me? Is there any FUCKING DOUBT that Osama was behind 9/11 and that Afghanistan was harboring him? Lets take on one terrorist at a fucking time, the biggest threat to the US is Obamanation right now, he lied to get the ban on the oil rig drilling's, that's the latest thing, Obamanation quoted scientist in getting the ban, when asked, the scientist said that's not what we said. |

According to the UCMJ, you can't say things like what was said, but that reporter should not have been there, he was looking for anything that would damage anyone , that's what reporters do, I don't blame him for that. I don't think Obamanation had any choice in what he did, but I think it could have been done differently, I just don't know how. But I have to wonder if when McCrystal gets out of the military, how much his book will be worth when he can say what he really thinks of Obamanations leadership. |

Again,. you're a fucking retard, shut the fuck up and wait for your short bus |
Ann Coulter said it was because Obama is too thin skinned to accept any criticism.

Obama haters are actually worse than Bush haters. Bush and Cheney were total assholes, who could give a shit about the lower and middle classes, or America's standing in the world, and totally fucked this country. Obama is trying to work things out in the worst time ever, thanks PRIMARILY to what he inherited from the "financially conservative, small government loving, non-interventionist" GOP (none of which was true), and yet the haters bash him every second for everything! Somehow there is a belief that if they fight Obama on EVERYTHING until 2012, that the citizens will turn power back over to the Republicans. FAT CHANCE! |

I didn't care for Bush, he was letting the Religious right influence his decisions, Cheney was making too many shady deals. I had high hopes for Bush and was let down. But the people running against him? Really? Kinda like the way you think about Palin, but I think Palin has more charisma to the religious right and can do more from the sidelines than a lot of people in office, which I find kinda scary. She's out there influencing votes. "financially conservative, small government loving, non-interventionist" So the opposite is Spending fools, big government and intervene on every little matter? Tax on tanning booths? Also I would say that Bush cared about the middle class about as much as everyone before him. But our economy was pretty good till about 06 when the democrats took over and promised change, which at the time was the two wars and little else, so what changed? Please enlighten me! I don't blame Obama for the mesh, I blame him for pushing his agenda before fixing any of the pressing problems that are going on. He has spent BILLIONS on bailing out the banks and car companies and the mortgage companies and so far, it's really hasn't had any impact on our economy as far as jobs, it got worse and stayed there. You can blame Bush, I don't care, I blame the guy in the White House that pushed a healthbill thru that we are still finding new flaws in, like it's going to cost alot more than was told to us and going to cost employers a lot more. How can anyone think we could put 30 million people on healthcare and that was going to save money, get real! He promised transparency, that happened? He promised Gitmo Bay would shut down, CHECK! He tried to give rights to the bastards behind 9/11 by tring them in NYC? I don't think he's doing enough with the BP oil spill, do you? He's sueing Arizona over a law that helps protect the citizens when it should be the fed's that protect them. Now I hear that 2 federal agencies have boycotted Aizona, the Department of Education and the U.S. Border Patrol. Influencing elections by offering federal jobs? AND There has been an increase in obscenity investigations / prosecutions the lawyers discussed this at the summer forum legal seminar People aren't fighting every little thing to help things change to change over to the Republicans, they are making a statement that enough is enough and if you don't stop fucking things up, you can find another job, you heard that the Tea Party backed a democrat? You can blame Bush if thats your only recourse and thats going to answer against this, but I'm sorry, Obamanation is a complete fuck up |

When I ask how YOU would be doing things differently (and I often do) you reply with a list of "fixes" that have about as much chance of happening, as you winning the lottery, twice on the same day! It is at around that point, that I usually reply back with the fact that I would like a magic lamp, complete with a sexy genie, who wants nothing more than to please me. It is just as realistic... |
