Chris I can tell you're upset, but let's get a few things clear.
1) Italy are the world champions at diving. No-one else comes close, but classes given by Italians around the world have everyone else catching up fast.
2) England may lose against Germany, but they will still have gotten further than Italy.
3) I wasn't the one throwing insults ("go back and play with your nintendo?"), that was you. Nothing I said was personal because I have nothing personal to say to you that's negative mate. This is about a football team that has got further than they should have in just about every world cup since 1990 through diving, and it feels good to see them lose out this time.
4) Do you want to see the deRossi dive again just to see what I mean Chris...?

The fact that deRossi and others get away with it is the fault of FIFA. More eyes need to have command on the field, hence the NHL moving to two refs. Things over the years have changed, and thus the league needs to change in officiating. Get more eyes that can make proper calls and not all the blind views refs have from 1/4 field away guessing what they think they saw.

Thats why soccer will never be popular in the states, untill they sort the cheats in Italy etc out, when they do you will never see these third world countries winning again

Chris, agree that FIFA needs to do more about replays. That would help eliminate the practice of foul play from the game (play on words there...). Sorry yes you're right about Moxxx being the nitwit calling me names, my apologies.

My point is every team has divers. The first lesson you learn in professional soccer is that if you are touched at all, fall down and roll around like your leg was just severed. Tell me I'm wrong? Its absolutely disgraceful that refs don't chastise players that get up and run around uninjured after trying to convey they were.

People bag on the Italian team because they ended up perfecting it and used it to their advantage. Video replay isn't a solution for this as its just going to destroy the game and the pace.
If you add just one more on-field refs and both refs stick to a 1/2 of the pitch, it would cut down on a lot of bad calls and start reducing diving and allow two refs to compare what they saw to provide better calls.

Lets face it, a ref running from behind upwards of a 1/4 field away is NOT going to see a dive correctly. The side refs really can't catch much as they're looking for offsides and OOB, not looking for fouls.
That's why the NHL added a 2nd ref as one wasn't sufficient anymore for the pace and skill of the game.

Actually The Italians invented professional diving. Everyone copied them. That's why they're the best.

There are at least 4 Italian led schools taught around the world showing people from Portugal, Argentina, Ivory Coats and Ghana the best way to get a foul created from nothing. In fact I'm pretty sure they showed a video already earlier in the thread.

Haha! The cheating Italians out in the 1st round .. that is just the best thing that has happened to football in years. Some of the dives these cheating pricks stage are just epic. Like that dive that cost Australia progression last WC, and the dive that got them a penalty vs NZ.

I am amazed that FIFA lets this keep happening over and over. Its the one thing that everyone hates in the game, and yet even obvious dives are just ignored and often paid by starstruck refs.

I have watched just about every Australia and New Zealand game in the past decade and I don't think I have ever seen one of the players take a dive. Just because European and now unfortunately some African teams need to cheat doesn't mean the rest of us do.
