:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh Personally, I lived in the UK for 4 years, and although there is some of the best food available in the world in London, it will cost you an arm and both legs, your house, etc.... The reasonably priced food is crap. I just have one word for the UK GREY Grey Food Grey Cities Grey Weather Grey-skinned People (with grey teeth) Grey lives lived in Grey little attached houses Grey dingy restaurants with Grey service Grey stony beaches I love my UK friends but there is no way I would ever live there again. sorry. . |

England is a great place for Indian food, but if like me you don't like Indian food, you are SOL. And as another poster wrote, reasonably priced food in the UK is shitty. It's much easier in NYC or NOLA or SF or LA (places I'm familiar with) to find excellent food at excellent prices. One more piece of advice: if someone invites you to their house for dinner, DO NOT GO. I'll repeat that for emphasis: IF SOMEONE IN THE UK INVITES YOU TO THEIR HOUSE FOR DINNER, DO NOT GO!!! You have been warned. |

We'll clean up the oil, get the Beaches operational and fine the living shit out of BP and whomever is responsible. You're stuck with bad teeth the rest of your life. Quote:

Ok guys, I think some of this information was helpful...but some of it just seems way off.
I was simply looking for some ways to cut corners around here. I think my original message sounded a little too dramatic. I'm just a bit nervous being in a new place...I'm not really nervous that I might go broke, lol. My company is definitely helping to pay for things and I'm not too worried that I can't afford to live here. I just want to make sure I'm spending my money wisely while I'm here. I want to be as resourceful or "thrifty'' as I can be. Anyways, thanks for the advice guys...I can always count on GFY to over-inform me! |
