I guess i'm the only one who thinks most of those are a pile of shit and bad advice...
of course don't provoke them, why would you anyway? How about some new rules? 1. Don't look like and dress like an aging hippy. Cops deal with meth heads and junkies every day and they all look like this. 2. If your not in a motorcycle gang? don't dress like you are, you will get their attention and be an automatic mark. 3. Don't dress like a thugged out gangster. Again, cops are arresting people wearing this stuff more often then not so why wear the uniform? Don't get me wrong, i am perfectly aware we have rights to dress and appear anyway we please, but my point is if you avoid dressing and appearing to be criminals they have less and probably no reason to come after you. (unless you provoke them, but i mentioned this) Why you think hitmen and serial killers are so hard to catch? They look and act like everyone else... Would you dress up like a zebra in a jungle full of lions? |

The problem with your list Amp, as great as it is? The problem is that, if we all do what you advise, every American, then we ARE living in a Nazi Police State, and we all might as well have swastikas tattoed on our ass.
Great advice for individuals who don't want hassles, but spread that advice to a whole society and we're fucked. |

I just got pulled over last night and got a ticket. When the cop put his lights on, I pulled over immediately, turned off the car, put on my four ways, put the keys, license, registration on the dash, rolled down the window and put my hands on the steering wheel and DIDNT FUCKING MOVE AT ALL.
So when he gets up to the window he knows I am not driving off anywhere, I dont need to reach in my dark car (its at night) into the glove compartment or into my pocket and the 4 ways show im not a drunk asshole and realize im pulled over on the damn highway. He actually noticed I did all this and said "wow if only everyone i pulled over was as easy" and said it put him more at ease right away.... I STILL GOT A FUCKING TICKET, my registration was expired by just a few days or something that I didn't realize because there isnt a registration sticker on the windshield to remind you which they had in the last state i lived. My fault for not paying attention but jeez he could have let me go with a warning. |
