Oh FFS, I was there that night and I remember this to an extent.
The reason I remember this night is because it was the night Bryan dropped a $100 chip on the floor at the BlackJack table and I finally found it after 10mins of looking. Carlos was at our table as well. I remember him knocking over a beer bottle on the table that spilt on his leg and he didn't notice or care. Man the Palms carpetting is fucking ugly :1orglaugh

Anyways, at one point later in the night Dwreck came over with the $500 chip in his hand. He told us that Carlos gave it to him wouldn't take it back. There were a few people around when Derek was telling us this but I honestly can't remember exactly who outside of Bryan and I.

Shortly thereafter Carlos came over and put his arm around Dwreck. Dwreck tried to give it back and Carlos put up his hand and said "no, its yours."
Now Carlos was fairly smashed as has been stated already, so who knows what he could have been thinking. But I do remember Derek trying to give the chip back.

Dwreck even asked people what he should as he really didn't seem like he wanted it. Of course at this point some people said keep it, and others said give it back.
I remember the phone call at the airport because we were on the same flight and even took the same taxi to the airport. Last thing I remember was that Dwreck said he'd work it out with Carlos during the week.

-Carlos when drunk pretends he's a baller by giving away $500 chips.
-Carlos when sober thinks there should be no repercussions for his drunk actions.
-Derek spent $500 when he should have kept it in his pocket, not knowing what kind of character Carlos really is...or lack of character he has.
-Derek felt guilty about spending money that seems to be rightfully his and agreed to pay it back.
-It's NOT okay to bring Carlos' family into it, but it IS okay for Carlos to try and ruin someone's reputation and fuck with their job and income.
-Derek fell on some hard times and/or doesn't manage his money wisely enough to pay back the drunk when he agreed to.
-Carlos is a tough guy who'll take a guys last $350 because HE thinks it's his.

why does ones debts and financials play into what level of person they are? Maybe hes salary based and not commission based. Maybe hes supporting his dieing mother. - if he told me the money is his, that I "gave" it to him, if Chris came over and told me he witnessed it, and if he still insisted on keeping my money, I'd have no defense but to leave it to him and kill myself for fucking with the wrong guy, cause only a true loser will keep money you give him, like a whore or a stripper that thinks she has the right to have your money. Money is the easiest way how to figure out someone's character.

The last thing in the world for me is to give out money, but yeah I believe Chris, Chris is a good guy I've even won some money with Adult Rental and Chris is a friend of mine, I believe him.

But even if I knew these facts I would still go on boards after 28 months, although those facts are new for me, but I stand for myself.

Here's food for thought:

- I'd never keep money someone gave me, especially if someone's totally drunk and I know him for two years, he knows I ain't no joker, he knows I'm hard on money, if you keep someone else's money it tells something about you

- if he told me he'll pay back once he's back, he has to pay back once he's back, he wasn't able to send me a dollar within the next 8 months and he was hiding in front of me in Florida although he promised for the hundredth time that he'll pay back, so I had to ask him personally, he gave me all the cash he had on himself

- This poor Derek had no problem fucking with me for another 20 months, inventing payment plans and crap and I don't know what, I have no sympathy for this, I've met plenty of guys like this that will have thousands of stories and excuses, but never ever pay back, I was actually a debt collector for a certain person for like two years when I was 21, so I might sound a little bit professional or harsh, but a debt is a debt, and I tell you - never once did I threaten him, never once in 28 months, I still regarded him as a "friend".

I've even agreed on his bullshit "payment plan" for $ 150 that was of course total bullshit, cause he's employed and he bought himself a new macbook a week later.

I'll leave this up to you, honestly I made a big mistake cause I was fucking with the wrong guy, a guy who doesn't have problems to take and keep someone else's money even he promises to pay back
