Back in the day we once put "Dont be a pussy, join now!" And join rate didnt change for that week. Should have tried more variations.

I like this thread. But there are so many variables to be tested. Not only the text, but color of text or button, to open in a separate window or just to go to the next page. Some surfers won't back out but instead may go to their bookmarks. Keeping the original tour up may jog something later when they come back to that window. Also running a clickable sentence in conjunction with the button but not necessarily next to it also works for and should be split tested for performance.

So click here for instant access still the best call to action? What about colors?

Adapt or die

It's the Holidays so it's a green button and the call to action is "Treat Yourself!"

Happy Holidays :)

When I worked at Dating Factory we did a lot of split testing. I remember green CTA buttons worked MUCH better than any other color, and using the text "instant access" got the most clicks.

I'd advise AGAINST using "Click HERE if you like poo" if your intention is to get joins, however if you are looking for potential pals, it works a treat ! :)

may sound stale but >> at the right side gives a sense of motion / urgency, therefore [ LET ME IN! >> ] works better than just [ LET ME IN! ], we tested it and worked.

"Join now" is over used. My call to action is "check out exclusive content". That seems to do the trick.
