The verdict this weekend - in 16 theaters it did $15,068, which yes is back up to $942 per theater for the weekend but that is still really low and it's still looking pretty bleak. Its total gross is now $723,714.

Interesting article, but one of the big lies in the movie, and in the article, is the suggestion that Chris Mallick left porn years ago.

Chris Mallick never left porn. The last I heard, he is still the CEO of ePassporte, which is deeply involved in the porn biz.

Meanwhile, his movie, which I saw last week, that claims to be inspired by his true story, perpetuates extremely negative stereotypes about the adult industry.

Maybe Chris Mallick had, or has mob connections, and he was an accessory to a murder, and shot an individual himself (all events depicted in the movie supposedly based upon his life), but I don't know, nor have I ever met, anyone in the industry that even remotely fits that description.

He also made it clear in his movie that the billing company he was a part of, and it's founders (which in real life would be Paycom), were involved in child porn, since the movie states in captions at the close that the drug addict guys whom started the billing company both served 18 months in jail related to their involvement in child porn, while Mallick supposedly walked away from all of his obvious involvement in the wrongdoing.

Chris Mallick basically tried to cash in, by selling out the adult industry.

In Middle Men, the supposedly Chris Mallick story, he implicates himself in ties to drug abusers/addicts, mobsters, murder, assault with a deadly weapon/attempted murder, infidelity, and adultery.

Oh yeah, and according to the Middle Men movie, Chris Mallick was also associated with child porn...

Therefore, I'm glad that more people did not see his movie, and that Middle Men was a flop that bombed big time at the box office.

Chris Mallick basically tried to cash in by selling us out. Therefore, I'm glad that more people did not see his movie, and that Middle Men was a flop that bombed big time at the box office.

I read somewhere that Chris Mallick was possibly fired from Paycom/Epoch - so maybe that's why he tried to portray Clay Andrews and Joel Hall in his movie as clueless and stupid drug addicts, not to mention child porn pushers, while attempting to sanitize his own image. :disgust

In any case, I think he did the entire adult industry a severe disservice with his "inspired by a true story" false biopic.

Didn't a big attention whore here who blows himself daily try to do the same thing a few years back, had his little project crash and burn and then he came crawling back to the same industry he trashed ?

MrBottomTooth 08-24-2010 08:49 AM

Wonder how much this cost to make?

edit: ugh, nevermind. Just seen the budget was 22 million. that's gotta hurt.
